LFR is resources taken though, and the raid is supposed to be what it is... and you can go back to older raids now and absolutely stomp the hell out of them. So it kind of exists already, and will once enough time passes for the new ones.
You have to make a new character I believe. Everyone starts at 750 now.... I don't understand how he could be 211?
That actually sounds like a bug. He should have been made 750 on the release of SK. Even if he lacked a gun for a slot, the average shouldn't include slots without guns.
Even for old raids you can't really go back and just stomp them with new players. The way power progression works in other MMOs is that eventually players get so OP they can even survive wipe mechanics and so basically just burn down bosses. That never really happens in Destiny; you always have to know the fight well enough to get to a damage phase.
What about older raids that you can breeze through now we're over levelled, have your group tried running those?
I've tried to get them through Levi on more than a few occasions but they struggle with a lot of mechanics. They've cleared the Gauntlet and Baths though, someday I'll get them through Dogs. Its a combo of communication and skill, there's usually a lot of deaths and that's wiped us more than once.
Honestly, it might just be best for him to delete a character and start fresh. That sounds super weird.
How do you get it now? I got over 200K in Hollowed Lair before they changed how Nightfalls work.

This is the problem.. Bungie stated this on release it was a bug.. If you had just made a character it would appear as PL0 and you need to delete and remake. So that's what they need to do. Pass over any gear to the vault, and remake and they'll be at 750.
I'm not sure how it works post-SK, sorry. Have you tried asking in the discord? I have my two rolls (pve and pvp) and have no need to farm it again.
Okay, thanks for explaining. I'm not absolutely against some kind of easier mode, I just don't think Bungie want to take away what the raid is supposed to be. I guess an easier mode without the rewards might work for just the experience, but then I think one of the main qualities of the raid is overcoming challenges and acquiring something for it... removing the challenge and the reward and turning into some sightseeing mode... I don't think that's what they want it to be.

I do feel similar about bungie's resources. More dungeons/zero hour/whisper experiences are higher on my want list, and I don't expect we'd get LFR style raids anytime soon if ever, even if I wish they would.

They had warned that campaign progress would be lost but its tough to keep up with bungie communication so its a bit lame for folks in your position.
