Well the SoC is on the CPU board and it was listed. So yeah while we can't be sure, it does seem odd that they'd have to mention one thing (like the SoC) but not another (like the RAM).

Could be, but I doubt it. If it's such a small different for the enhanced Switch (50% or less improvement) I don't see why it wouldn't replace the OG Switch. Maybe it'll be something like "Switch deluxe" (like the Wii U Deluxe SKU) which comes with 2/4x the storage and increased performance? While the regular Switch is still being sold for $50 less (but with the new SoC just hardlocked to OG levels)?

The way I understood this tweet-
was that there are three versions that use the T214 chip, the Lite, the "new" Switch whatever it's called and the devkit (EDEV). The previous tweet:

Worth noting it's not possible to charge the device whilst using the Homespot. Was an unfortunate deal breaker for me - my main use case for blue tooth audio is travelling in portable. It's how analysts explained the lower than expected shipment figures vs sell-through, Nintendo's been slowly tightening supply for half a year now.From a production cost standpoint, it doesn't really make sense to go into this year's Holiday season with two different manufacturing lines for their SoC (= using the new Mariko chipsets for the Lite while sticking with the old 20nm X1s for the regular model), so I think it's reasonable to assume we're still getting the 'New Switch' sometime this autumn. Weren't there reports in spring already that Nintendo was clearing its stock of 2017 models?

So when he talked about the base clock being increased he was referring to the maximum frequency (the 1228MHz vs the previous 921MHz), not the smallest clock interval value (38.4MHz for TX1). So disregard my theory from the other page.
if they maintain an equal number of steps down, they could clock the gpu to 1.08GHz, so it would put it over the OG. since the handheld max is over half the the docked spec, I'm thinking a new docked spec would be around 960MHz or something to maintain that ratioOk. Thanks for getting that clarified. If 38.4MHz the smallest clock interval, the max for the new chip is base x 32. The max setting for the original TX1 should be x26 (1GHz) , but the max for the Switch is apparently x24 (921MHz), and the max frequency actually available for devs is x20 (768MHz).
If Nintendo does use the extra power of the new GPU, do we think that they would push the chip closer to its max than the original? If they did, the new chipset could increase the performance to over 50% from the original cap.

Some of these improvements are pretty substantial for such small increases in clockspeed.

Yes, I mentioned before that Tegra nano could be defective 16nm ones that didn't pass QC and got binned. This is just a theory that I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being true.That is literally half a Switch, and doesn't jive with everything else out there, mainly the SoC being the same between Lite and the enhanced SKU
I'm guessing these are just binned shield tV or Switch SoCs with a defective cluster so they just disable the bad clusters and keep 2. Fairly common GPU practice. Budget cards are often the same chip as a the high tier card, except with several clusters of GPU cores disabled due to defects.
I didn't say it was missing half. Just that it could at least be deactivated on the tegra nano. Because half would be a pain to take out. And IF switch lite is based on the tegra nano, then I wouldn't be surprised. I'd rather this not be true, because I do think switch lite with all GPU available on a 16nm node is capable of running docked speeds at pretty close to the same energy as OG switch in handheld.
