Same thing happend with FH4 this summer.

Pretty sure having it on your console and not being able to play it for 4 months is more painful.

I have a shitty internet so at least having a week or 10 days to DL stuff before release would be much more preferable to 48 hours.

Maybe they do this for gameshow events. Make it easier to download and stuff.
It is playable from start to finish, they had enough development time to develop demos for showing , while other games these days refrain from doing demos cause they take so much precious development time
It will just be a matter of updating a day 1 patch for any missing thing

wonder if they are using simplygon for file compression and optimisation like mhw, hence the small file size
I imagine the cutscenes will all be in engine. No reason why they couldn't be. And from the demo I played the cutscenes seemed in engine there.
