The last trailer looked amazing but these pictures got me wondering if the game actually got downgraded or just different resolutions used. Last picture in thread I took from the latest trailer on 1080p and I find it better looking than the one above it. What do you think?

I think nintendo is pretty much the only company that rarely downgrades stuff show in trailers.

That being said, this is nowhere near WatchDogs level of downgrade

I think we'll have our answer when the game comes out, and right now there's no way to really no either way.

I remember saying the E3 2017 trailer looked downgraded from the reveal and people tried telling me it looked better lol

It still looks incredible, but yeah it's not at the level of the reveal. I never expected it to be, to be fair

You know there are direct feed screens right? No need to use awful YouTube compressed to hell shots.

Personally, to me it looks like they've mostly improved things if anything. They've upped the detail on character models, added more colour, removed fog in places but added more fog in others. Guessing they're just artistic choices rather than major changes to the engine.

Early videos of games are always a work in progress. Moods change, scenes change, story elements change, sometimes making a totally different looking screen shot of what someone thinks is an identical frame with different quality graphics because things had to be downgraded.

The only real differences I see are lighting & post fx adjustments, scene framing, and character clothing changes. Things that are almost always guaranteed to change over the course of a game's development.

Friendly reminder, don't believe any released screenshots from any Developer. Most of them have been altered/cleaned up in Photoshop.

You'll have to wait until the game is out to see what it really looks like.

Doesn't look downgraded look like some visual tweaks and lighting adjustments. Even if the game does end up looking different ('downgraded') it's natural for every single game, optimisation is part and parcel of game development.

Those direct feed shots look amazing. I don't see a downgrade. The kid looks a bit different from the reveal to me. That's about it though.

Yeah, I was thinking that whilst watching the new trailer. I don't mind, the game still looks good.

Theres a better pic in the trailer thread that shows a big downgrade, still looks beyond anything on PS4 so far, yes even better than Horizon imo.
