My ex is 29 and I Just turned 26.
It's harder for me, but I like my seniors.
I dated a 35 years old a couple of months ago, now I adjusted for a younger One (24) which is rare for me.
I feel the article is mostly talking about older guys dating young girls though.
In Italy is seen less severely. My sister was with a man 22 years old when she was 15. Been together for 5 years, turned out fine. The parents Just Need to be more present though.

I'm in my mid 30's and no, that's def weird and I got a sideye for people who will argue it's fine because it's within the law or whatever. Those relationships work out sometimes and the people will be happy which is all well and good but on its face yeah, weird
The age range gets wider as you get older for a lot of people. At 22 I'd probably have had a range of 18 to 28. At 35, if I were single, I'm open to something like 20 to 50, haha. There are some fine women that are 45+- and 20 year olds have a ton of energy..so win win.
Seriously though, most people in their teens/20s do tend to date in a closer age range. I'd recommend branching out though.
I'd say it's only weird if you're looking for a permanent relationship. You'd probably be wasting your time with a 22 year old. The values don't tend to be the same. For a good time, the age range is huge.
I mean, it's normal as in, not unusual (especially the 'wanting' part), but it looks pretty skeevy(?)/sad to many in the sense that you're going for people way out of your age/experience as if you don't have the maturity to date someone your own age or you're aiming for younger to take advantage of their relative inexperience. Many women prefer older men, though, just as many older men prefer younger women.
Yeah, it's crazy thinking about it from the other side lol. When you're young, it's like "oh that's normal I guess." Now I'm on the other side and it's like "omg, these are children wtf"
How is it weird? The older I have got the larger the age range has expanded for me, I'm 29 and I would usually go for women between the ages of 23-33, whereas when I was at school it would always be girls of the same age.
That's easy. Tell a teenager girl they can't go out with him. And if your a guy/girl around the same age, you're hating.
It's a no win situation.

Was 19, woman was 26 and married, we went on a date and wanted to push it further, but nothing happened in the end. Looking back, I was an idiot for trying to pursue that kind of situation.
I'm an exception to your generalization. When I was 15, I dated a 21-year-old. There was also that weird situation where I had met a 37-year-old who offered to take me out for lunch, only to take me back to her apartment (and was extra-flirty). Trust me... there's nothing about me that's "hot". Mature? Maybe. I had lived through my parents have died and a good friend committing suicide by the age of 14. There are other "childhood stories" that aren't too happy before these events, but I'm not sure if they led to me being more mature or just more insecure.
I've always dated "up" (in terms of age). There were a few stints where I hung out with those 4-5 years younger than me (in my mid-twenties). But none of those moments evolved to being anything more than lust/sex. All of my relationships have been 5+ years older than me (even my fiancee is about 6 years older than me now).
Statistically it’s probably not that common but I’d imagine that a large percentage of men in their 30s, if completely unfettered by social conventions and having the opportunity, would date women in their 20s.
But also, predicting your preferences 10 years in the future based on your present self-assessment is maybe gonna be pretty innacurate.
Comic Scott and Ramona work well. Movie Scott not so much, which is why if he was going to end up with anyone, it should have been Knives.
Now, if the movie was 15-20 minutes longer and actually showed Ramona and Scott being happy together, sure. But MEW and Michael Cera have like no chemistry.

Yeah and now it freaks me out as an adult. Dating higher was always because boys in your grade we're immature and dating a guy older was mature....
But then you grow up and find out, that's a lie and that they are still immature, creepy and nasty af for seeking out girls that were your age, and they mostly do it because they are either a loser, or someone who is only attracted to young girls....which is pedo behavior imo.

Honestly I've mostly been a guy to end up with girls younger than me and not much younger, just a few years at most if that. This girl I messed around with during high school would tell me about her time with some 26 year old dude who had a daughter. FTFY. High school is a HUGE age difference. Most high schoolers are under 18. Unless that high schooler is 18, I think anyone 20 or over is really fucking creepy trying to fuck a 14-17 year old.
