Seriously, can't figure out why he would have been chosen for this position based on his history.
This is demonstrably not true. You can stream new games at 4K/60fps already, and you've been able to do so for a while.Streaming is just not ready. Don't know why people want to push it so much. Why not instead push for instant downloads of any game? Download and delete instantly any game you want? That's a far better technology
This will never not be funny. You realize you will see every game in 4k as your output right?
Seriously. Stadia is impressive for a streaming solution in 2019/2020. There was no need for this whole bullshit PR circus. But I am not going to feel sorry for them. They brought this on themselves, and any damage is by their own hand.People will let a surprising amount slide as long as you come at them half way strike. Marketing is going to dovway more damage to Stadia than performance

It's not this. You don't give devs a target spec then late on tell them you're gimping it just because so their games are going to perform worse than expected, that'd be crazy. So no, that's not a best guess, it's more suitable for the NextGen speculation thread as it's about as reliable as any random pastebin posted there ;-)
There are a few. Heck, they gave everyone one, Samurai Showdown. Rock solid 4k/60.Even if this is the case, they should have had at least ONE game running rock solid true 4K to show it could be done... a showcase game... but nOPE
Its embarrassing, especially in that Google knows Stadias early adopters are going to be tech savvy prople who can tell 4K from 1080p.
Google never actually said that. What some people assumed was that the initial load would be eliminated, you choose a game and it's already running, sitting on a title screen, having hooked you up with an instance already running your chosen game. Doesn't work that way though, it;s obviously loading the game from start, same as if you ran it locally. Of course there's no time to wait for a game to download, install, update, but that's different. Now, Google did have a tech demo at GDC showing how a custom Stadia game could eliminate load times, it likely had different areas loaded on different instances so when you entered a new area it would just switch to the instance with that area already in memory.Load times are much better than consoles. 21seconds on Stadia vs 49 on 1X.
So is this another misleading advertisement from Stadia? I thought Stadia was supposed to eliminate load times?
