Bummer I have a 3600 and wanted to upgrade this fall when the new consoles are out.

Tempted to just get a 3900 now but I'll wait...

I'm looking to do a Ryzen build and was wondering about 4000. They confirmed the B450 boards will work with 4000 though so there's an upgrade path if needed, although there are going to be some limitations on B450 by the sounds of things

Fuck, I seriously want to upgrade but not with mid grade shit that will surpassed easily by newer tech.

Not bothering until I see 3 or 2nd rt gpus and finally ryzens on PCIE 4 and DD5.

I bought a 3600x after my Tax Refund and I'm not going to plan on upgrading. Unlike phones, CPUs can last more than two years

They just released some new Ryzen 2's to compete with Intel, it would be a silly idea to bring out 3 so quickly.

If we don't get a 3080ti this year then 2020 is more cancelled than it already is

Bummer, I was kinda hoping to do a rebuild of my rig using Ryzen 4000 chips when the new generation of GPUs start rolling out, to move to an all-SSD storage solution (and to re-use my existing rig and hard drives as an Unraid box).

But yeah, this clears the air for anyone wanting to use Ryzen 30000 for a new build. I'd still recommend picking up a B550 or X570 board for better Ryzen 4000 compatibility, but still.

I'm still playing new games with my i5 2500k. CPUs are the least of my worries when it comes to upgrading a PC.

That ain't that long. I've been waiting a couple of years. I can wait a bit longer.

This all but confirms that I am going to wait for 4000 series of AMD CPUs and NVIDIA GPUs.

All in for 4K!

this is REALLY disappointing. I was planning on doing a full build and can't make any moves until I can confirm the mobo that will come from the 4000 series cpu. Guess this gives me time to continue to mentally build my pc. :/

Sorry guys, i picked up the Ryzen 7 3700x. Well that means you can spend towards that Nvidia GPU first

Forces me to enjoy the 3700x a little bit more, definitely grabbing the 4700 though whenever it releases

I'm waiting for the H2 Renoir Apu's. I only do retro/2d or emulation gaming on my PC, so I like a quiet, cool box.

Damn I was planning to upgrade from my ryzen 1600 to Zen 3 with new mb and ram but now I might just buy the 3700x from UK amazon and ride it out until ddr5.

keeping my old FX I guess... Hopefully it can keep hitting at least 30 fps in cross gen AAA games till DDR5 platforms are released
