As someone said earlier tho, official servers are not the place for it, doubly so unless discord can create a way to verify ages. At the end of the day tho it's a free upload system on the channels so all sorts of shit that shouldnt be uploaded can get uploaded so they are just like FUCK IT BURN IT ALL.

I have (had) a discord for a few friends and over a year hit about 50 plus users and it's just filled with porn and 4chan shit. I shut it down because it became too out of control. Mods don't help when they contribute.

That's fair. Partnered servers don't need a NSFW channel considering they represent the brand. There's always smaller servers if people want to share that content.

On one hand kinda dumb as the nsfw channels are labeled so if you join them when you don't wanna see porn that is on you.
On the other hand big partnered or even official discords having a porn channel is rather odd. Guess the result of this is gonna be new seperate discord channels totally not connected to the official one purely for nsfw that you will be pointed to if you ask or that is even listed somewhere

Funny thing is, only server I am on, that actually is partnered and has removed it's porn channel is the one where I had porn channel muted anyway. So no effect on me.

It's largely to share things people like, or artist people wouldnt find normally. It's pretty much a collection of I LIKE THIS so people use it to see what other people like and discover new things

I've been in some community voice chat or another since vanilla warcraft 3 and i have never seen a porn channel or heard of people wanting one. Maybe its more of a recent development since i've mostly stuck to my same group of friends now for a good 10 years or so but it seems like a really weird thing to want to mix into your social gaming program. If you want porn you are already on the internet and have access to unlimited amounts completely free. I can't say i've ever been horny and thought to myself 'I wonder what my healer or the guy who plays mccree on overwatch nights gets off too, I bet i'd like that too'.

Surprisingly, or not I don't know, I've never been a member of a Discord Channel that has had any tolerance for any kind of nonsense or alienating/offensive behaviors. I am part of mostly WoW/Overwatch/Splatoon 2 channels to be fair who try to foster an all ages atmosphere but still it is the one of the reasons I like Discord over PSN/Live. Even the users who have been warned by mods are pretty apologetic and reasonable and immediately cut out the shit from what I've witnessed. I'm glad they are taking it so seriously with the partners and feel bad for the CSRs who have to scan through the bullshit weirdness.

yup it was 24 hours to comply or total erasure. It got deleted then Discord said 'well you guys said retard so no partnership' The Obama one was taken out of context. It was from 3 years ago where the mod who said that said how he found it stupid that people would say that.

the retard issue wasn't out of context though but I do contest the 4000 results because 1) this server has been here for years and also 2) not everyone would be saying that in a rude way. Some of those results might be like 'hey you can't say retard' 'retard is bad word'

It was a very harsh sentence regardless

The picture shows that they were first warned because of the lolicon stuff, and got denied the chance to fix the issues because of all the slurs that were allowed in the server, as well as all the shit a moderator themselves said.

Still here thankfully. We just had to comply to the deletion of NSFW to keep it which we did.

Shame stupid people ruin good things. XIV discord is super good and the mods are great.

Don't get me wrong, I love me some anime tiddy as much as the next weab, but Discord has gotten pretty mainstream now...and it's kind of weird for people to be posting porn on what could be construed as "official" channels.

While both are valid points, they are also disingenious to original exchange. The statement was that they literally HAVE NO CHOICE, and he addresed the fact that they do have a choice. Guess I've been lucky in that the servers I've joined don't even have an NSFW tab. I don't see the need or understand the want for that on a social platform. And nonetheless, it's definitely not something that partnered Discords need, as I imagine it can make a lot of people uncomfortable. This is fine.

Ah, okay, thanks for expanding on that. When you used the word delete I thought they ditched the entire server, which would have been an overreaction by them.

Rereading the message from Discord, it seems that they did want to delete the server. A bit heavy-handed in my opinion, considering it kinda came out of nowhere. Still agree that there is no place for porn in partnered servers, as they are the main hub for those games on discord. It's not like they are hunting after smaller servers that are focused solely on that.

Discord was going to kill the server so yeah. The obvious and only choice was taken. I feel bad for the mod that is in the middle of this. They have been pretty upset over the issue. (I hope they aren't seeing this)
