Disney are releasing a dvd or Blu-ray boxset of all their "classic" films from 1938 to 2018. Very tempted to get this myself even though I already have 26 of them on Blu-ray.

damn I thought this was a collection of the Disney shorts. Disney has beautifully remastered those but only ever put out cut versions on youtube sadly.

Interesting.

It's a nice looking package, but the fact five of the movies are just DVDs and it's just at an arbitrary number/date (56 films, 81 years) makes it a pass for me. With luxury purchases like this I'd want it to feel more... commemorative?

So that's roughly 5$ per movie in a 56 movie boxset. Sounds fair for such a large collection I guess.

Does this include the digital copy? Because this is an awesome set but that's a deal breaker.

Make Mine Music, Melody Time & Black Cauldron finally on Blu-Ray. Hope they get a retail release along with Saludos Amigos & The Three Caballeros as I have most of these already.

Edit: They're just DVD's :(

I might buy since there are a huge amount of those I've never seen and I don't own a single Animated Disney Film. It looks rad too.

If this gets a US release I'll probably pick it up. I've been wanting to pick up the Walt Disney Signature Releases as they've been coming out (Snow White, Pinocchio, etc.) but I never quite got around to it.

Honestly 250 pounds isn't bad, that'll end up being what, like $300-350? For some of the greatest animation ever? I might be into this. But wtf is Zootropolis? Isn't it Zootopia?

EDIT: Technically, you have to buy Wreck it Ralph 2 separately, it just has a space for it. I was hoping it would come with a voucher.

DOUBLE EDIT: Wait this doesn't include my favorite Disney movie of all time, Bedknobs & Broomsticks? A huge chunk of that film is animated!

Fuck that, I'm out.

This would be great if some of the films didn't look like absolute shit.

Some of their Blu-ray releases are an absolute travesty.

**Please note for the Blu-ray collection that the 5 films below are DVD discs as they are not available on Blu-ray**:

Saludos Amigos (1943) The Three Caballeros (1945) Make Mine Music (1946) Melody Time (1948) The Black Cauldron (1985)

why wouldn't they use this opportunity to put these on Blu Ray?

Still, this is tempting...

Nice. If I still collected DVDs or Blurays, I would probably have bought it.

I regret buying all of the Disney Classics (or whatever they were called) tins on DVD, because I spent a lot collecting them and never watched them.

It looks nice, but I think I'd rather wait until they finally actually remaster the 5 DVDs. Maybe in 2037...

My biggest issue with boxsets like this is that as soon as ONE new Disney movie releases I feel like the boxset is outdated and incomplete. Sigh.

Poor Black Cauldron. I really like that one, even if it's the black sheep of Disney films. Would still love their original uncut version.

If I recall correctly, aren't some of those movies notorious for having really had bluray transfers? I think Sword in the Stone was one of the bad ones. I hope this collection has better versions.

Weird omissions: Dinosaur (2000) and Winnie the Pooh (2011). Weird inclusion: The Wild (2006).

Does the UK have a different numbering system than the US?

I'm good, considering the price and some of the transfers on those movies aren't very good, and I prefer to just pick up what I like anyway.

Screw that. If I'm paying £250 I want the Horned King in hidef.
Given that I bet Robin Hood is that horrible zoomed in version too

Drat. For a moment I thought it was a collection of the classic shorts. Now that I'd open up my wallet for.

Disney Classics is Disney UK's brand for the Walt Disney Animated Studios canon, except unusually it excludes Dinosaurs and includes The Wild instead. It doesn't mean the films are all good.
