It would be a natural response from the author to be repulsed by a change in revenue generation into a more uncertain one.
I, as a faithful steam devotee, agree that exposing the game into the smaller market is a very risky proposition.
Just want to say - that if you had a creative legacy and universe you made, you might be a bit worried about it and how it is consumed by people! Maybe even a bit dramatic if you poured your life into it all! Passion and such.
