Let's face it, there are some ridiculously attractive people on Instagram. I have recently - but unfortunately - discovered some "ahem" cosplay models who post some very arousing pictures.

My question is, do you ever try to limit your exposure to this type of content, like with porn for example? Because similar to porn, it warps our perception of attractiveness. I have spoken to male friends who say they try not to follow instagram models because of the impact it has on their mental health.

I personally try to limit the amount of models i follow - keeping Instagram just for friends and interesting celebrities, content, etc.

So Era, do you thirst on Instagram?

And of course I post it in Gaming. You guys definitely do. Can a mod please transfer to EtcetEra?

Edit: Instantly transferred.

I recommend the Instagram versus Reality subreddit. It's all smoke and mirrors. You could take a selfie in a nuclear wasteland and make it look like a music festival with the right angles.

Following IG models is a dangerous act, because once you hit follow, the app recommends 5+ models who look just like that one.

I don't really follow anyone like that. Only people i follow that aren't friends are photographers who do much more interesting things than take pictures of themselves.

No. I have friends who are insta-whatevers and it's just exhausting to me. I'm also not a mark.

I love the hoes errr "models" I follow on Instagram, especially the ones that go live while they are in the shower. I don't comment on their pics or anything I just sit back and enjoy the content they post and then I move on with my life.

goddam there's a subreddit for everything

Instagram Versus Reality is a good one though. It helps knock you out of your social media induced mental health slump. The people you're double tapping aren't actually that good looking. They just know how to take photographs that make them look that good looking.

I don't follow any models. Just not my focus for IG. I like it for art, retro stuff, friends/family, cooking, and fashion. It's heavily curated. I don't need to be thirsting on models myself. The comments are also so so pathetic lol. Have some self-respect, brehs.

I'm a curmudgeon about Instagram and only follow people I know that take pictures with their phone camera. I have very little interest in looking at models in my free time. I'd rather see one of my friends having a good time.

Yeah that's a good one. I almost always clicked the thread when I see it show up on the front page. Although recently there was a woman who seemed photoshopped and it really did turn out that is what she looked like

I can't say I follow any models, really - though I do get a kick out of the instagramreality subreddit and just how many people seem to suffer from body dismorphia.

Eh not really. You can admire beautiful/gorgeous people, while also realizing that these people are almost all already attractive and make their livelihood out of just working on their appearance/getting the right shot

Only a few.

One because I've actually met her/have mutual friends and others because they followed me back.

I mean they've found a hustle that they like so good for them. They're living their best lives.

I mostly follow model builders and mini painters, some artists and galleries, and a few food related pages. And family too.

Is there actually another way of using Instagram? I only follow Japanese, Korean and Chinese models...

Yeah, I follow a few. Don't really see what's so bad about doing so. If doing so has an affect on a person's mental well being, there may be some underlying addiction issues (or other issues) that may need to be addressed.

I don't follow Instagram Models or use Instagram at all, but there will always be a ton of people more attractive than me just as there will always be a ton of people less attractive than me.

It's all moot though as I'm married to the love of my life and nobody will ever be more attractive to me than she is.
