I have a PS4Pro, mid/high end gaming PC and Switch..

I pick up the Switch version of games when I can because portability and gyro aiming in sans of M+KB is important to me even with lower resolution/graphical extras. So for some it's definitey not the "worst version by far".

Day One for the Switch version. Sure, I could go for the XBox X version, but I doubt I'd play it.

I didn't know this thread was claimed by switch owners and nintendo. I must have walked past the flag that was planted, probably while playing switch.

That's the real dangers of portability folks, always watch you're walking.

I'm not a handheld gamer at all but I don't see how it's shocking some people would prefer a worse version of a game if it was portable. I know some peeps got busy lives and shit.

It's a shame the Switch doesn't have a bit more juice so these ports were a common thing. Seems to only really be games that are 60fps on PS/XB.

I'd argue it's even MORE fun if you're not interested in multiplayer.

The multiplayer mode is okay but the real meat of the game is the single player/arcade mode. It's sooooo good.

While I think the user you quoted labeling this a Switch thread was a bit....silly, to say the least, telling Switch owners it's "their problem" was some large scale projection on your part. Like, c'mon man lol

I wasn't saying that because it's the "worst version". I'm saying because of the controls. It looks like a lot of people swear by mouse & keyboard when it comes to Doom, so seeing that people just play on what they prefer is great.

Day 1 on PC as it has always been with Doom.

Maybe I'll get the decimated Switch version some day for portable novelty. But I'm still waiting for Doom to go on sale for Switch, as I'm not paying the current asking price which is considerably more than I paid for the PC version when it came out in 2016. Doom is 9,99€ on Steam and 64€ on the eShop at the moment, lol. I ain't paying dat Switch tax for this old game.

seriously tho, bethesda's support is amazing, i thought for sure this one wasn't coming to switch. makes the other publishers not doing switch versions of their games look bad.

Nah, they are being sarcastic because of so many years there would always be a reason why a third party game wouldn't come to a Nintendo console, Doom Eternal is launching on Switch at the same time as the other versions, no buts or questions asked.

Not going to lie, I hated the multiplayer at launch on PC..but after all the updates/patches by the time I got the Switch version I actually put a decent amount of time into it. Felt sorta like a portable Unreal Tournament (which, btw, make that shit happen please, I'd take just an HD port of the original at this point).

It's the version I'm most likely to finish, so it's probably the best version for me. Although I'd still like to get it on PC at some point too to enjoy the 60 fps goodness.

Like I said, I like it. I think it's even good. It's just so similar to Quake I don't see why it exists.

Glad to see this is coming to Switch. Tough decision between that or the PS4 version, but I'll get the game in one format or another.
