Can't believe NiP got knocked out so early. Must be growing pains getting used to the new patch. Hopefully they can get it together and maybe win the Minor or at the very least attend it...

EU is stacked.

He complained earlier about SA being too easy and US players just flying to brazil to get easy qualification

I feel that's kind of mischaracterizing his point. His point was that Test123 was clearly abusing the system—arguably Pain as well. The guys from Test123 literally flew down for a week to do Qualifiers and had flights booked back home for the day after they finished. They aren't bootcamping in SA, and aren't scrumming or practicing against any SA teams. If the point of giving them more spots is to develop talent, why allow players to live and practice in stronger regions and just fly in for a weekend to do Qualifiers?

Since Artifact servers died, just saw this. Pain X disqualified from the South American regional qualifiers, Thunder Predator get their place.

It was an ultra rare reward.

You can usually find the upgraded gold frondillo for cheaper

So uh, it looks like the last time I played was on 6.84c in June 2015.

My heart can't take all the changes. New items, new heroes, hero redesigns, item redesigns, map changes, talents added at least are all easily visible enough. But it's harder to find if there's more subtle mechanic changes without digging through patch notes, especially if some were repealed in the interim. For example, I know that Iron Talon (item) was added after I last played a match, and was removed before coming back now.

And I need a good way to check the value of my inventory, though I know most of it is worth pennies now, some are worth a few bucks, but they're usually better items that I'm not really willing to give up anyway. There's some sites that can do that though I guess if I make my inventory temporarily public.

It's kind of exciting in one way, but demoralizing in another, that I feel like I hardly know anything anymore, even with 1200+ hours in the bank. Could probably pick up League if I wanted to and it would take a similar amount of effort to learn that from "scratch" vs. trying to relearn Dota now.

But WoW has been pretty boring for me as of late, especially since I've been playing with a group that's below my skill cap. If I don't move on to another guild for the next patch/tier that's more on my level, I might just sink some time into Dota and/or other games.

Dota is attractive because of the learning curve and opportunity to sink a bunch of time in again, plus it can be more bite-sized in some respects in that matches are usually 40-60 minutes or so vs. the usually longer sessions needed to accomplish meaningful goals in an MMO.

I don't know any sites that do that anymore. I think steam helper used to do that for me then it stopped working.

Yeah I was thinking of starting games again with that since it'd be enough to get a feel without having to commit to a longer match, especially if I just wanted to see abilities and the like.

Also, is there a defined opinion on Dota Plus? I read some on Reddit that people don't feel like they're getting value in terms of cosmetics, but it seems like it might be worth to have for maybe a month or two at least. It's fairly cheap anyway at $4 a month for what it is. I certainly wouldn't pay much more unless they were offering a significant amount of content. Because it seems like Dotabuff still has many similar features offered for free, just not directly integrated of course.

I kind of disagree with them DQing Test123 just for the fact that they waited until all the qualifiers had started and someone significant made a public statement before disqualifying them. Now the team has no real way to make it to the event short of winning the NA Qualifier for the Minor and winning that Minor.

Can't wait to watch Thunder Predator and No Pango get crushed and probably knocked out during group stages at the major.

OG out, drafts were a bit crap and Alliance outplayed them. A minor run may be good just to get practice honestly, they need it.

Seems CC&C was helping out SA players and scrimming, ppd salty?

As I said, it's kinda bullshit to DQ them this late—almost entirely because PPD raised a fuss about it (he wasn't wrong either). Valve sat around as they played the KL Qualifiers/Majors with 3/5 NA players, then they dropped from the organization and immediately swapped out 4rd for Kitrack, and then they got their invite for the Chongqing Major, played the whole Qualifier with that lineup, won said Qualifier, and a couple days later Valve suddenly cares about it. Come on man...

Kuro gets that all heroes played in competitive games. Next up winning one match with each.

These seeding matches have been really clowny but good entertainment.

I mean it's Valve time. 3 month delayed reaction
At least all the teams know what the requirements are so it's not TI9 ruining.

lol nice

To be clear, TNC is not the victim in this case. It is not okay to cover up the situation, avoid any real sense of responsibility and then deflect it onto the community. We expect them to disagree with this.
