How the f did navi end up in UB? Watched the Liquid games which were pretty convincing but didn't check the others.

I still don't understand what the idea was behind changing Sven's war cry. Clinkz ultimate I can sort of understand even though it was replaced with currently lack luster stuff.

Dondo interview

https://old.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/a5u7pa/dendi_on_the_new_patch_dpc_season_and_his_plans/

transribed by@redgamesa2
https://old.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comm...e_new_patch_dpc_season_and_his_plans/ebpg69a/

7.20 Patch:
He enjoys the new patch but believes Magnus and PA are the major problem right now and that the initial nerfs were too insignificant.
He thinks the TP and Travels changes are currently very underrated.
He loves mid Rubick in 7.20, it's currently his most-played hero
He has changed his mentality in pubs: he tries to play the "imba" heroes in order to master them and increase his hero pool, while a few years ago he disliked playing them and found it boring.
DPC:
Dendi thinks the system is very healthy for the T2 and T3 scene and T2 & 3 teams are stepping up. Last year was very demoralizing if you were not a top team because it was hard to find even small successes to motivate you. This year it's different.
Plans for the Future:
He's currently trying very hard to improve as a player. He's trying to find a spot on a good team. If it doesn't work out, might start his own team.
Says he probably has "low value" in the eyes of the community because of the media and two unsuccessful years in Na'Vi, but personally believes in himself very strongly.
Not eager about captaining (prefers to be a player), but believes he can do it if needed because of his experience captaining Na'Vi.
Kuku/Skem Drama:
Doesn't have a strong opinion. Thinks that they were probably punished too harshly (they are young and make mistakes, thinks they regret what they said). At the same time, he's not trying to defend them.

Game is fucked. Takes 10+ seconds for the play button to engage the matchmaker, game coordinator crashes periodically, and it can't even find a server to host a private lobby with no other players in it. Valve this is one of your most popular games and it's not even holding a fraction of its peak users, wtf.

Team OG stunned the world in August when they held strong against PSG.LGD to claim the Aegis of Champions in a thrilling five-game conclusion to The International. Now, it's time to journey behind the scenes of this epic clash to see the real story of how one of the most exciting comebacks in esports history unfolded for the players involved.

Join OG and a theatre audience on January 15, 2019 to catch the world premiere of True Sight — The International 2018, coming to you live from the Nordisk Film Cinema Palads in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The broadcast will begin at 8:00pm CEST, to be followed by a Q&A session with attendees and the champions themselves—hosted by Kaci and PyrionFlax. Tickets to join OG at the live premiere in Copenhagen will be available starting on December 25, with more information on how to tune in at home coming soon.

Is it actually? Still seems like a strong community and pro scene, from an outsider perspective.
There's like 100 Chinese millionaires and one Saudi prince or something that fund the pro scene.
If we didn't have that funding the pro scene would be dead.

The best advice I can give is to leave your Steam link and what region you play.
I myself haven't played for months - a lot of the people in this thread just watch the pro scene which has tournaments every 3-4 months.
A lot of people on Era still play but are probably are not looking at this thread.

Reddit might be a better match
/r/dota2tutor - Find a tutor or students
/r/learnDota2 - Learning the game
/r/dota2ndq - No dumb questions, ask any simple question

The best time to play is during The International Battle Pass - which is May-August.
That is when player numbers spike.

I would also add to what Shira said to consider checking Purge's videos on youtube where he has some new player guides and streams recorded
https://www.youtube.com/user/PurgeGamers

Though to be honest, there is no other way better to learn than just start playing, either first against bots solo / co-op or normal unranked matches with other people.

One other thing I remember doing and which I found extremely useful is the in-game client "Watch" feature which allows you to either view currently on-going matches through the normal game client or download past matches based on match ID's.

There you can rewind, select commentary if they are pro-matches with commentary and most important, check all the items and abilities of the heroes while the game is going on..

Please do note that the pro-matches and high MMR matches are different compared to the new player clown fiestas the games most likely devolve to but at least it gives some ideas how the heroes play, what items the pros are purchasing and when.
