I just finished another play through of Inquisition earlier this week, would be insanely bummed to not see a follow-up after the way Trespasser set things up. I'm still dealing with the thought that I probably won't get an Andromeda trilogy, I can't lose Dragon Age 4, too man

Midgar, With Love
With a great vision and some of the last devs at BioWare, Morrison is well on its way to becoming inexperience.

Massive fan of the series... heartbreaking news because If DA4 ever sees the light of day, it's going to be far removed from what we expect. Like GaaS loot shooter with swords and thats not what I want.

Seems like EAs got the shovel out. I wouldn't be surprised if they killed BioWare. Mass Effect was a dump and the latest crap was even worse.

I just hope this means the GAAS version of it is dead lol (though rebooting the game a third time at this point would be insanity).
Part of me expects Bioware ends up cancelling DA4 and going with something else.
It would probably be healthier based on where they want to take the game? I dunno, releasing that Game Awards trailer was such a phenomenally stupid idea.

RIP to a real one. Spent my teenage years in love with Mass Effect and Dragon Age. I'll miss the kings of party based WRPGs.

This will hurt PapEA more that it'll hurt you. Shhhh, close your eyes and count to seven, and when you wake you'll be in heaven.

A producer is essentially a project manager in the games industry. Not typically a creative role. Losing senior team members can always potentially damage a team, but this probably will not affect the creative vision of DA4.

I've been fighting a sinking feeling for months that DA4 is never coming out. As one of my favourite franchises, it's still heartbreaking. I had such high hopes for a Tevinter-set game after the excellent cliffhanger set up in Trespasser.

WOW, Bioware really is going to be known as the studio who created a critically acclaimed trilogy only to never live up to those expectations again.
Not just Mass Effect. They were kings of the playground with Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate, KOTOR, Jade Empire, and, of course, Dragon Age.

That's an insane pedigree, and one of the many reasons so many of us loved Bioware from back then.

And DA4 was already internally rebooted a couple of times wasn't it?

Good grief BioWare.

Ehhhnever heard of this guy. I wouldn't worry just yet. Remember Casey Hudson rejoined them a while back. They key players are still there for now.

Not a good sign.

In case of the worse let me say: Fuck EA.

.... I really do hope DA4 is still on track for release.

Casey Hudson has never been involved with Dragon Age at all.

Mike Laidlaw (co-lead on Origins, lead on 2 & Inquisition), James Ohlen (co-lead on Origins), Brent Knowles (co-lead on Origins), David Gaider (lead writer on Origins, 2, & Inquisition), i.e. most of the creative leads on the series: all gone.

Only "key players" still around are probably Patrick Weekes and Mark Darrah (not to diminish the work by many at the studio, but I assume by "key players" you mean those in positions that set the vision for the project).

BioWare just can't seem to shake off any of the baggage they have acquired these past few years. At this point their next project might end up being their last if they fail again.

Producers have a more creative role at EA.

I'm actaully not sure how to add the quote, but its from Jason Schreier

I always felt like Dragon Age 4 needed some new blood to keep the quality up, anyways.

I have little reason to believe they'll be able to right the ship with their most recent titles. But like there's a hope deep down inside of me that the post game true ending dlc of DAI writing wasn't a fluke and that I can get more of that in a new title.

How long has this guy even been on DA4? The project had been at a standstill for so long. Wish him the best either way.

There's an optimistic take on this news which is that Bioware needs to shake up things internally so one lead producer leaving is an opportunity. As a long suffering DA fan, I'll try to reach for whatever optimism I can.

I'm fully not expecting Bioware to exist by the end of 2020. Sad day too because Dragon Age is one of my favorite franchises. They really bet the farm on Anthem and they lost and frankly that sucks.

People leave companies all the time during the middle of projects.

Considering that we have no idea what the current state of DA4 even is, this could even be a boon depending on who replaces him. It's all meaningless speculation.
