Tournament in Europe. Interesting trend, European and Japanese players seem to use SSJ Goku much more than American players.

Poor SSJ Vegeta is struggling to defend his ever present top 3 in all leaderboards. Could this be the end of an Era? With the announcement today we might get a new leaderboard right after the World Tour Finals(I hope).
Also Adult Gohan stole the 2nd spot from Bardock.

So many sleeping on Goku Blue. I use him on point with Broly and Goku Black and have been kicking ass. He's the neutral and mixup king, also has advantage with instant transmission on block.

What are the disadvantages to running this game on Switch? Does it look worse? Framrate drops? Ect ect. I'm ashamed on how little I've played this game in the past half a year, but truth be told I just rarely play my PS4 anymore. I play nearly everything on my Switch.

I'm also used to an arcade stick though, which has made me very skeptical of switching to a controller. But if I did, it would be a Switch controller.

I heard level 3 supers can sometimes drop a few frames where it doesn't matter. There's the issue of people probably playing wirelessly. That's about all I can think of. When I played it I thought it still looked good, but there is a difference. It's like the difference between performance mode and whatever other mode it was that prioritized graphics on PS3 for Guilty Gear Xrd.

There's frame drops throughout, not just during lv3 supers.

It's good enough for practicing on the go, but if you are serious about the game, stick with the other versions.

Damn...actual frame drops in gameplay? That's a real bummer. I still may get it on sale, but that's a shame.

Point Blue Goku with Goku Black and SSJ Vegeta in my case. My most likely choice of team currently other than 18 or 21 on point with the same shell.

With SSJ Vegeta, his knee anti-air (214L/M/H) is also viable, and can even be done pretty late on the Super Dash's approach.

Well there is Spark which is a crazy strong comeback mechanic. I fear insane offense is just the nature of this game when you have 2 assists + a very solid blockstring (which I never did full develop for Vegito). I even forgot what fslink told me to practice my blockstrings so I can have an oppressive offense. But I haven't had a chance to play a lot lately.

Jiren is (practically) confirmed now. Seems like we'll see him at the Finals next week.

Anyway is there a chance that it's Toppo instead of Jiren?
They better not pair up this one with UI Goku, show us you've been listening to the community Hiroki!

Make sure you don't have any monkey paws lying around; I wouldn't be surprised if the base saiyans sold super well considering the (supposed) clamour for them in Japan and the onrush of twitter tech hype, let alone the casual appeal that infinite gokus and vegetas probably have.

Speaking of dlc though, does Jiren have anything that might make him play any weirder than most of the cast? I know even less about Super than I do Z.

At least UI Goku would be less bad than Base Saiyans, but yeah...

Regarding Jiren, he has an aura like power up, punches so fast that it seems like he isn't moving(more so than regular Dragon Ball). This from what I can recall in the anime. In the manga he uses kiai( Adult Gohan 5S) a lot. Overall he's just a really overpowered dude. Arcsys can certainly do cool stuff with him and I expect it due to his importance and I assume the long time they had to work on him.

I much rather they worked on someone like Janemba or Muten Roshi who are full of unique stuff but oh well...

Itd be cool if the universe 11 thing referred to the clown god guy and he got a hand buzzer command throw

Also yeah, while i still dont have the habit yet, you lose so much from losing a character that early sparking is often goto. Since the things you lose often end up being more meaningful than the potential of the "comeback mechanic", it deserves a lil more scrutiny

I wouldn't expect there not to be Ultra Instinct Goku in this game. I'd imagine Bandai Namco wants to make that Super money and that's an easy way to do that. Unless they pair Jiren with another ToP rep like Toppo or Dyspo from Universe 11 or just someone else like Kefla or Ribrianne, Ultra Instinct Goku is probably the only one that makes sense. Would probably Mastered over Omen if I had to guess. Though I feel like they'd have to change up his stance from Base/SSj/SSjB and make him shirtless due to his only appearance. I wouldn't mind, he could be a really neat character and I REALLY want Kid Goku too.

They should announce Jiren and Ultra Instinct Goku right away and get them over with since they're the two most obvious picks.

  • Jiren should be a heavy type character with armor. Maybe like some kind of midway point between 16 and Broly or something like that. I say don't give him a projectile ki blast attack with the special button but instead give him some kind ranged attack that involves deflecting things with his eyes.
  • Ultra Instinct Goku should be a defensive parry based character who doesn't fight like the other Gokus. Have him start in Omen Ultra Instinct but then give him a Phoenix-like install where he goes true Ultra Instinct

Scans from V-Jump should drop soon. Apparently Jiren is fighting a Goku, question is what Goku? Hopefully it's just Blue Goku or something, we should know in a few hours.

I have no willpower when it comes to this game so that's how I know we getting UI Goku. Because it's just Easy $$$ for'em. Just use same Goku model, add some gray colors, gray aura, and some new attacks. Easy money. Psst, I know I am simplifying their work but surely UI goku wouldnt require a new model right?

Are you being sarcastic? Because I think most folks hate the timed transformations. UI Goku is a state that can surely last beyond a typical DBFZ match.

Oh now I am seeing a reddit thread bout this. I have only see a dramatic finisher happen to me once and I believe it was only cause closer performed it on me if memory serves me correctly.

I'd rather have Kefla, Jiren, and/or Goggeta over UI Goku. But I am thinking he's gotta be so much easier for ASW to add to the game we are getting him for certain unless someone at ASW goes, "You know- we got a lot of Gokus in the game. But since we're 3vs3 adding another Goku cant hurt!"

In other Arcsys games.

Golden Frieza is just a less hype Dragon Install.
I don't mind that though, because his golden form is trash.

Even if Arcsys didn't want another Goku, I kind of doubt they have that much say on this one.

At least they are pretty good at making multiple of the same character play differently.
