I think is kinda cold right now before this patch announcement. One of the reasons for so is that their not pushing out content consistently like other fighters
Honestly those 16 changes don't sound too painful, tbh. He's probably losing midscreen mixups after a level 3 but I can live with that. If Broly got some noticeable armor buffs he could end up jumping up tier lists.
Those Piccolo buffs though, those are eye opening enough that I might give him another chance
With the patch coming tomorrow here's the last update for this patch. #16 and Bardock were the top picks of this period.
This was easily the most varied meta with a bunch of secondary and tertiary characters appearing decently, seems like every update has made it better. Let's hope the next one follows suit.
Those apparent super dash changes and nerfing Bardock's level 3 are looking great.
How many characters will be hyped day 1 by pro's never to be used in tournaments because they return to their old mains?
Which characters will be deemed "nerfed into the ground" with everyone dropping them only for two months later we realize they are top 5?
Will Kuririn finally make a top 8?
Find out in the next patch of Dragon Ball FighterZ.

Nakkiel dragged 17 down to bottom shat tier in his latest tier listing. Cooler is the truth
Hopefully Superdash changes will help out this game. I am so weary of the edge case where the guy is right above my character (where my character is grounded and off screen)-- I cant figure out which direction to block. It's a 50/50 mixup (I believe this is the correct term for this guessing game I go through)
I have given up on this feature ever getting fixed so my playtime dropped off a cliff. But I do play the game somedays and it's annoying. I am here for the characters and the community-- cause the gameplay can be frustrating
But let me tell you I love the characters in this game. There is love there, buried underneath layers of jank
What I need to know is what about Tien's lvl 3 damage distributions. Hopefully off the first blast it's the same, or damages more. really curious how much it changes.
Looks like a deluxe edition with all dlc coming out for Japan (for now) end of January. Also christmas colors and avatars coming. New mode coming as well:
FighterZ Tenkaichi Budokai" – A new mode where players compete with various rules
Also a customizable trophy room is coming as well.
Finally finished Japan world tour grand final. That was indeed very fun to watch and had nice variety. Awesome touch seeing Hiroki handing out the awards. Classy

As of the patch, cancelling a mid-screen air combo from a launcher into a Vanish then a j.2H with SSJ Vegeta (i.e., 2H --> SD --> j.LL, j.2H --> jc --> j.LL, j.S, j.236M --> Vanish --> j.2H, j.LL) no longer seems to work. If anyone knows better, feel free to correct me.
Best alternative I've found: 2H --> SD --> j.MLL, j.S, j.236S --> Vanish --> 9j --> j.LL
My friend has convinced me to come back to the game after a break (lapsed shortly before Cooler and 17) and I was looking for an opinion on my team here;
Assuming I want to roll Point 18, and Anchor Trunks, who would be a good non-Vegeta middle?
Indeed, it does. Seems I spoke too soon anyway, don't know why I thought I remembered the j.2H actually connecting instead of just giving him a boost, so everything's actually still fine (my fault for having gone for a while without playing). 236S (fireball spam) is more optimal all the same.

Hopefully you're going to play more. I got you on Follow like most of the Living Gods that post here but havent seen any matches with your A21 popup in awhile
I'm not sleeping on Piccolo, those buffs he got definitely got me wanting to revisit him. I might check out Goku Blue again since it looks like his command grab is viable

Maybe. Played for a bit yesterday, and it was interesting to get back to. But it also reminded me of what I didn't like about FighterZ, and hearing about all of this meta-focused discussion and how everyone is going to pick up Yamcha or Gotenks after the patch really hit it home. I've never followed a fighting game that required such strict adherence to "the meta' than FighterZ.

tbh I don't think this game needs to adhere to "the meta" as much as some people make it out to be. Even before this patch a ton of characters were pretty viable and post patch I feel like the playing field is a lot more even. You just here a lot of talk about Gotenks and Yamcha because that's what the pro tier players are using
Was coming back to the game thanks to the patch and was pleased to see the playerbase on PC seems to have doubled since the last time I played. The sale seems to have made some impact. Let's hope it stays that way.
Also theres some kind of irony in there that Yamcha of all characters is a top pick now.

That's not going to make him feel better. He competes in tournaments I've seen him play on stream. I recall the last tourney I saw him play in-- he had to wade thru like a bunch of Cell matches
(This was back when Cell was the Meta)
But yo the game is much better now I must add- we gots Bardock, gotenks, 16, etc so that's a little more variety

Eh...
The start was like, Cell, 16, A.Gohan, Kid Buu. Gotenks probably would have made it up there in time even without the Assist buff.
Variety was probably about the same, but Bardock is one of the worst kind of characters to have at the top. Cell was at least fun to watch, and had a fast lvl 3, haha.
It was a nice surprise to go back and see the continuing improvements they've been making to the online experience. I didn't recognize the "connected to a player" prompt at first, but understood it when I took a closer look. They've abstracted it to prevent the rampant quitting that was going on before. That's good.
Being able to play against opponents in perpetuity in Ranked is a bit weird, but treating it like glorified casual sets, it's neat. Also removes some of that "win/quit" psychology before a set is done, since there are no specified number of games.
Was able to find opponents quickly, too, instead of waiting for 15+ minutes with no one. Though that might be due to an increase in activity after the patch.
It doesn't really seem that way to me. I think they've been trying to improve the balance as time has gone on, and more egregious aspects of the game are being ironed out. And, granted, I haven't looked at competitive play in months. But the way I'm seeing people talk and what I bet, is that the number of top characters players flock to is the same, but they're just different now.
I guess that's the issue with team games, but the ideal would be that there would either be a lot more powerful characters where it wouldn't be simple to say, "These 5 are the best", or that even if there were a select few characters considered the best, the game mechanics would allow for flexibility, self-expression, and more variety.
But I had major issues with the first iteration of this game, and after nerfing Bardock, they seem to have addressed a lot of those. And that's good.
Seeing a few of tweets from pros about the new Vegito buffs. People starting to realize Vegito is the best character in this game (ok I might be exaggerating a tiny bit lol) like I always been saying for months along and Gotenks always been my wingman

Man it really bugs me that they still haven't updated the intro movie. I know, I know, I know--- it's so trivial! But ASW games --- I always usually let the intro play. I want the DLC characters in the intro just like they did with GGxrd REV2. After all, we already saw the new intro movie which has the dlc characters.

Only problem with Vegito is I'm so in love with him I literally used to want to give up soon as he died. I wouldn't ragequit but I would put my controller down and go do other things as sad as that may sound.
But now I have just accepted I'm not quite ready to fight off these really good Pink players so I set my filter to only give me my fellow Reds to fight. maybe one day my understanding of fighting game mechanics will get better so I can fight off these Pink players better. Because I really think it's a cop-out to set the filter to same Color lol
If only I would just spend more time labbing the other characters on my teams I'd enjoy them more. At least I enjoy Gotenks a lot so I love at least 2 characters in this game.
