I've been enjoying Blueku for a decent while, so it's nice for him to get better, I guess.

Bum's bday stream was pretty good, worth watching the archive on twitch if y'all didn't see it yet.

You can also see how ridiculous 21 is post-patch now. Plus Goku Black looking pretty decent again too.

I don't know about Goku Black, migh have been Kami making him look good. It's clearly his best character. Still too soon to make any conclusions, Fighting Tuesday had a lot of Teen Gohans, #21 and some Zamasu's. Together with Goku Blue these seem the less played characters most improved.

Will put the character usage update later today or tomorrow.

I expect a lot of goku blue, 21, and a decent amount of Zamasu in the future. Zamasu takes a modicum of effort to play as. He got some godlike buffs, though.

I've played the game for ages now and these patch notes look like hieroglyphs to me. I can't even tell if there are any differences with the characters I main. That's the downside of just learning by doing and never dealing with all the tech babble I guess.

The additional effort is why I'm being conservative with my estimates for how much more we'll see him. Most still seem content with picking Bardock and calling it a day for DLC characters. I don't expect much change with how much 21 we'll get, but wouldn't mind seeing a few more here and there.

Also, nuts to potential Blue Goku bandwagoners. I was playing him before it was cool... -_-

Oh, yeah, Bardock is still gonna be a popular pick. It's like how ArcSys kept nerfing Johnny in Revelator and it never worked. If it weren't for the super dash/guard cancel glitch I would be pretty happy with this patch, tbh.

EDIT: Of course the patch didn't fix it, why would it? How silly of me.

They released another patch. need to figure out how to delete all my replays. This sucks causes I had some old replays with FSLink, Cryptosporidium, and others that I didnt get around to converting over to video

I thought the last patch was gonna be their last lol. The prospect of them not patching the game anymore is starting to sound good from the point of view my replays will stick around

We had NorCal Regionals to close out the last patch and Bum's Birthday for a very early look at the new one.

GO1 seems to be currently the best FighterZ player. Let's see what the next patch will bring. Hope they announce the World Tour soon, I guess CEO is our best chance since it started there last year.

Not liking the sound of potentially switching to one character per release with DLC announcements. It's annoyed me enough with SCVI, but at least those have been characters I've wanted (minus Tira, to whom I'm indifferent and doesn't really count anyway).

V-Jump releases on the 21st, why would they tease this upcoming issue only to release the character the day before? That date sounds glaringly wrong...

They said they wanted to release the characters more spread out this time. This may be what they meant?

Really starting to remember why I love this game so much. The comebacks in this feel better than in just about any other fighting game out there...

Brussels Major was the past weekend, pretty fun tournament with nice variety in the top 4. Two tournaments coming next weekend so I'll wait for them to update the list. Hoping the trend is this variety, a good Hit is fun to watch.

Anyway if I wanted to build a ridiculous damage team who should I put in? Vegetto, Teen Gohan and Tenshinhan seem some of the candidates. Any more?

If I said Hit would that be too obvious? Not just for his new proton cannon either. Blueku also hits like a truck now.

Blue Goku already hit like a truck, though (some of his attack properties were modified and now lead to new routes, but the damage remains largely consistent with what it was before).

He got damage like that before without assists?
Just seems like more ways to get to decent solo damage now (with assists taken into account, looks about the same as before to me, that being what I had been referring to specifically). Unless there's something major I've overlooked, others regarding him as a whole new character is lost on me if it's based on his damage.

Nah, when he was talking about large damage I'm thinking of the character solo. Since he mentioned Vegito and Teen Gohan I thought he might have preferred solo damage. If not then he can disregard my suggestions, lol.

In regards to solo damage, Vegito probably still has the edge (don't know for sure how much the system changes affected him). I don't know much of anything about Teen Gohan though, so no idea there.

Yeah, he does good damage still, it's his meter gain that got nerfed. Just do j.S and compare it to the old one. That one move built a ton of meter.

Unfortunately we'll probably see a lot of Bardock, he just works.
Speaking of which what does everyone think about this tier list?

Looking at Kuririn makes me sad.

Is it just me or does Bardock feel just as strong as before lol.
I'm convinced they cannot nerf Bardock below top tier (w/o a complete rework or drastic measures). He's the prime example of what a complete package entails and just simply sets the bar. All my teams have him on it and my understanding of the game has been improving

I've been using:
Vegito/Jiren/Bardock (CoachSteve team)
16/Bardock/Yamcha

Even though I like 21, I'm under the impression that she gets a bit too much credit (she does well with the right assists, but her damage isn't particularly exceptional and I still wouldn't say she's all that great as a solo character).

Kind of funny he's the only one they knew with 100% certainty he belongs in low tier. ASW really wants Kurrin to be their 'comedy' character but the players want a viable character at the end of the day that's easy to work with. Kurrin throwing out two rocks seem to cause some confusion on how relevant that will be from what I noticed from watching jmcroft. Seems to me ASW was just trying to give him better spread

All they had to do was buff Kurrin's assist then people would mess with him more. Like give players the choice between a beam or the bean. you don't bring rocks to a beam fight, as they should say

Regarding 21, Imperfect Cell should've been a character with the copy gimmick that 21 has. Super Buu too for that matter.

Yeah, I could've sworn people were saying that the patch had a negative effect on Kid Buu (not as much as Majin Buu, but still not good).

lol I told you all they ruined him. From the second I tried my normal BNB's i could just feel it.

I personally didn't mind the rock as an assist because at least before i would land, then call the assist and use it as an oki tool (or even to just bait the super dash).

Really does suck though, he was the most fun character for me to play as free prior and I really felt like I outplayed my opponent when I won with him.

EDIT:

A better rock change would have been to keep it as a tracking rock but give it beam properties so they opponent is forced to block it and can't super dash through it without getting hit and leading to a combo. That plus a slight increase to the vertical hitbox of 2h and he would have been perfect imo.

what's your thought on some sort of Solar Flare assist for him? I am just spitballing here obviously since my Krillin knowledge is like 2/100. I never see him in Ranked. Definitely less than 5 times tops out of 400 games have I encountered him.

One time I made FSLink use him though

I don't like playing Bardock but I feel like I'm gimping myself by not maining him. Honestly the only big problem I still have with him is that ridiculous 5LL.

Yeah he definitely feels weaker to me, his mix took a big hit and I hate playing him solo now, but I'm also trash at the game so I'm sure he's still good in the right hands. I'd drop him but Zamasu flight mixups + KB assist is my favorite thing to do in the game.

I wouldn't be against the solar flare, it can serve the same purpose as rock but it's even better because it freezes the opponent for a second when they get hit. Solar flare was already a huge part of his kit because when used properly it allowed you to keep pressure and the opponent locked down and would blow up vanish attempts.

Just finished up a great set that made me remember why I love my dumb, unoptimized team so much. They don't work well together, but each one is just annoying enough on their own to really mess with opponents...
