Right, Shintani changed a lot since his early design sheets.
oh well, ssj2 and 3 should still look great with Shintani's style.

He'll still pull it out now and then like he did against Trunks or the Saiyan girls, I'm sure. Basically not for anything really important, but enough for a bit of fanservice since it's popular.
2 on the other hand will probably continue to get a decent amount of use.
Unless we got Blue versions of Super Saiyan 2 and 3. Then Blue 3 could become Goku's ultimate killer move for a while - it would see horrendous stamina drain and lack the perfect dodging of Ultra Instinct, but with totally unmatched raw damage output.
