Yupppppppppp :(I wouldn't get my hopes up. The last three entries in the series (1 numbered and 2 remakes) weren't localized.

I would say there's a good chance the West will see a localization of the new Dragon Quest Monsters game
I don't know if <750k non-Japanese copies is enough for SE. Those are shipped, not sold through, too.I would say there's a good chance the West will see a localization of the new Dragon Quest Monsters game

For the breakdown of the Japan copies it says "sales" or "sold" not shipped, so I'd say the 700k estimate for Western sales is probably accurate. This would make it the best selling Dragon Quest in the West since Dragon Quest 1 for the NES.I don't know if <750k non-Japanese copies is enough for SE. Those are shipped, not sold through, too.
Wrong, it's IX. Over 1 mil.For the breakdown of the Japan copies it says "sales" or "sold" not shipped, so I'd say the 700k estimate for Western sales is probably accurate. This would make it the best selling Dragon Quest in the West since Dragon Quest 1 for the NES.
Ah I didn't see those numbers when I was looking yesterday. Still I say being the third best selling Dragon Quest game is good nonetheless.Wrong, it's IX. Over 1 mil.

Does anyone know where I can find a playthrough of DQXI in 2D mode? I've found a playlist of someone playing the 3DS version and it's fun to compare as I play through it, but I can barely find any 2D gameplay outside the opening areas.
Exactly what I've been looking for, thanks!
I've thought that my avatar might scare people with are afraid of clowns, but......... It's important to me. I actually took the pic (the full pic has me next to him). It's from Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando and it's a Killer Klown from Outer Space. I love horror movies and bad movies and I'm a part of both hangouts here. So I thought it was a good representation of a part of me that isn't as known or seen as my DQ/JRPG and PoliEra side.
I don't think there's an "ideal" one so much as a bunch of pits you can fall into. The trick -- as far as I can determine -- is to pick out the best abilities you want to shoot for, then stop exactly there, which in some cases involves maxing out a skill path and in others, not. You basically need a guide to tell you which ones are worth the effort and figure out a point budget for your builds. There's no "right" answer, but there are a whole lot of wrong ones.Speaking of efficiency and DQ VIII, is there an ideal or at least very efficient skill point build for the 3DS version?
Gotcha, thanks for this.I don't think there's an "ideal" one so much as a bunch of pits you can fall into. All of the Game Boy Dragon Quest games are excellent. Overall it's actually my favorite platform for the series with DQ 1-3 (3 is my favorite main series game and the GBC version is my favorite) and Monsters 1 and 2 (my two favorite video games of all time, alongside La-Mulana 1).Man, I'm trying out DW I+II on GBC and man what a nice port. I'm just AMAZED how well the music is converted. Sounds WAYYY better than the NES.
Have you played Dragon Quest games and enjoyed them?Hey, guys. Since the Dragon Quest Heroes games are on sale right now I want to know if you would recommend them if I loved Hyrule Warriors. I played the demo a while ago and remember very little of it but it didn't convinced me to buy the games full price, on the other hand, I've heard that they are one of the best designed Warriors games out there so maybe I just need to play more of it to enjoy them as much as Hyrule Warriors. Lastly, if I only can buy one would you say 2 is an improvement over 1 and worth getting over the other?
It's more like you won't recognize anyone in the games and it's not worth it if you aren't familiar with the cast at all. They aren't as good as Hyrule Warriors.I've never played a DQ game before. Are the Heroes games too heavily based on them or is it the grind way too high and unrewarding if you are not familiar with the series?
Yes indeedyFinished the story in DQ8. So now on to the post game stuff. Heard some of it gets pretty tough in this one.
Slightly off topic but if you become a fan later on play the 1st game instead of the sequel if you want the fan services . Many prefer the sequel but the DQ casts from past games are more involved in the plot of the 1st game.Oh, okay. Maybe they are not for me, then, since the demo didn't convert me immediately. Thanks for the reply.
I love how religious it is, lol. It's a bit cheeky, but hey, it's its charm.
Well I really liked DQ3 so having the vignettes without the defined characters is fine with me.My feeling at the time was that it was a little looser because you don't have the defined party members backing up the vignettes. It's been a long time since I played the game, but, I don't remember the main plot having much of a thrust to it. Felt weird coming off of DQ8.
