Thanks for posting this. :) While I am personally not as interested in 2D mode as some, it's still neat. The orchestrated OST alone is good enough for me.

It would be nice if they would add that classic menu style back into the overseas version. The new one is fine, but I rather be able to choose.

I'm not the biggest DQ fan but this game looks very... comfy. I will pick it up to play on my commute.

It also looks very impressive graphically. Me like!

I'm going to wait like 6 months and hope this stuff comes as either a patch or DLC, if not... man I might have to double dip.

If the additions are coming to PC and PS4 it'll definitely be either paid DLC or worse a separate release with no upgrade path.

From the screenshots it looks like it will be about what happens just after act 1.

What happens to the cast during the time Eleven recovers in Nautica.

And I think it will be about :
Sylvando forming his band
Rab in the Astral Plane
Jade in Octogonia
Eight confronting his "friend" before going to Cobblestone

That seems pretty good to me! I mean I was always going to buy this anyway, but more reason the better, hey?

So has it been confirmed if the entire OST is orchestrated or if its just "select songs?" Because I remember seeing the initial announcement saying something like "field and battle tracks" were orchestrated and it wasn't clear if the entire OST was orchestrated.

I literally only want this version for the 2D Mode, as I don't expect that to ever get on the PS4 version, even if they decide to patch stuff into it. But a part of me doesn't want to support Square if they don't at least add the updated music to the other platforms. I'll just have to wait and see what they do I guess.

To be fair, this game was decided for the switch very early on. So the game was inherently designed to scale down. Unlike Kingdom Hearts, which might not come

Games looks damn good.

The PS4 version will be 3 years old in Japan by the time these updates would be ported back so it would be a new release. Neither a patch or DLC would make sense at that point.

It's easily one of the most impressive looking Switch games already. Glad I waited for all those additions.

Yeah - you might get a definitive version release in fall 2020 for full price on other systems, people expecting them to patch the old version just like that dont know SE or Nintendo very well.

The digital foundry video will be delicious. They never did cover the western version, so we dont know if there were performance improvements, so we'll get a two-fer

This looks really damn good. I'll wait to go back to the PS4 version until I find out if it is just for Switch or the rest of the versions too. Probably will buy Switch version again just because lol.

Supposedly the Japanese Direct didn't make such a distinction. It's still possible that it means only Japan will get a fully orchestrated soundtrack, and the west only those two though, but I guess we'll just have to wait until further information.

Japan and Europe, only the NA Direct said field and battle, while everything else include eShop description saying full orchestrated soundtrack.
Otherwise that would be stupid to be able to switch to MIDI with only a few song.
