E3 2018 Predictions & Discussion thread

The time has come and so has E3, This year may be a significant year in terms of game announcements and surprise reveals similar to E3 2015 (Year Of Dreams) however this time we have entered a new Era. To kick things off let's discuss our hopes and dreams as well as speculation for this year E3.

• Smash Switch details
  • I'm expecting a September 2018 release to coincide with Switch Online
  • I wouldn't be surprised if we got a third party character reveal at E3
• Devil May Cry V reveal
• No Pokémon Switch reveal at E3
  • To be more specific, if the game isn't revealed by the time E3 comes along, it won't be revealed at E3
  • If Pokémon Switch is already revealed before E3, I do expect more gameplay of the game(s) at E3
• Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition character reveal
  • Either Sagat if they do monthly releases or Cody if they do bi-monthly releases
• Metroid Prime 4 trailer
  • I'm guessing that it'll see a Spring 2019 release

After the criticism for Sony last year, I expect them to go big this time. Also excited for Microsoft as they really need to show the big guns.

Posted this yesterday in another thread, but it fits here too.

For context, I own an Xbox One X, PS4 Pro, and a Switch (and a n3DS XL, but haven't touched it in a year).

Stoked for Microsoft's conference about as much as I am for Nintendo's potential showing. I'm not feeling anything for Sony this year, as I feel like I already know what's coming and most of it still feels far off, other than Spidey sometime this year.

What makes the Xbox and Nintendo showings so enticing is that they both feel like they've been holding back some big reveals.

Honestly though, Forza Horizon 4 will be enough to make me happy from Microsoft, but I think they'll surprise.

I trust Nintendo will show at least two or three games that excite me.

There's plenty that Sony has coming that I'm excited about, but again, it all feels so far off.

I just want to see this new trend of "game gets announced and comes within the next year or so" trend continue. Stop announcing game so far out from release. I'd prefer within a year, but I'm giving some wiggle room to Nintendo for having to garner more Switch hype last year with Metroid.

- Just give me a short in-game trailer for Metroid Prime 4. I don't care if it's 3 years out

Microsoft:
- Halo 6 teaser
- Fable 4 teaser

Sony:
- Ghost of Tsushima gameplay

- FFVII-R trailer

DMC 5 reveal and Metroid Prime 4 gameplay would be all I need.

If someone reveals a new action mecha game then they got my heart and total wildcard would be if treasure reveals a game there.
