Why keep the score then?No one said that. Review scores can be different without them meaning that one is better than the other unless there's a direct comparison of the two.

Then they need to keep doing it. Just because everyone else has an awful grasp on a number scale doesn't mean EDGE needs to adopt it. Christ, 8/10 is 4 stars out of 5. The fact people see that as a negative is hilarious.
Not at all I actually laughed but people takes everything seriously especially when it comes to video games somehow..You're initial reaction made it seem like it bothered you a lot.
I don't see this as an issue, actually. I think that Metacritic and other aggregates have done a lot of damage to the value of individual reviewers. I much prefer doing some shopping around and finding a few critics with tastes that generally align with yours and looking to them for their thoughts on games instead of looking at some monolithic MC number that lacks any context. If EDGE is going against the grain and using their own scale for reviews, that just encourages you to actually read them and dissect their thoughts on the game in proper context.the issue is that its out of step with the rest of the industry that unfortunately DOESNT use the full scale for rating games, in most cases everything below a 7 these days is shit according to most 'journalistic sources'
only Joe and now edge i've known to use the whole scale in terms of reviews
In some respects Switch is right because you guys give so much power to that Edge review. It's kind of ridiculous and you know that Edge is quite aware of much people anticipate it.Yeah. Especially when there's 2 games rated 3 in this issue...
I'm not sure what is a joke comment or not at this point in this thread lol
Do you even know if it's the same reviewer? and even if so is it that such a crazy concept that someone liked Sea of Thieves more?
I know I'm burned the fuck out on Far Cry games.
Just speaking for myself, I was comparing EDGE's score with my own opinion on the game.Sea of Thieves is an awesome game. People calling a 7 for the game overrated?? Not everyone likes the same things... it's gonna be OK. lol
Anywhere you like, either end of the M40.
There's no shortage of fucking weirdos who put personal investment into such bullshit. Are people seriously concerned that a game might drop from a 95 MC score to 94?
Oh yeah, we noticed...Not at all I actually laughed but people takes everything seriously especially when it comes to video games somehow..
Sorry don't care to be on either end of an M40. Odd comment...
Fans of those other games are called wack (and worse) too.Yes let's pretend like this doesn't happen with every single game that has hype behind it.
Come on.
I assure you that EDGE doesn't give a fuck what internet forums think of their review scores. It's a gaming magazine with a more niche, specialized audience. We don't buy magazines. We get mad at "please disable adblocker" pop-ups.In some respects Switch is right because you guys give so much power to that Edge review. It's kind of ridiculous and you know that Edge is quite aware of much people anticipate it.
>250 GotY awards or passI only play 10s and higher so this score is disappointing to me.
Imagine being this mad because your game didn't get a 9 or a 10 lmao
Can be further expanded to internet and even further to humanity! The immaturity of this forum is about to be exposed bare once again.

""When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east. When the seas go dry and mountains blow in the wind like leaves"DDOS them by buying all their issues so no one else is exposed to their opinions. Buy every last copy. That'll show them.

The fact they scored Sea of Thieves higher than FC5 and A Way Out is absurd to me, those are both games that have a hell of a lot more gameplay to them than Sea of Thieves.
"My 95"8 is still an amazing score by Edge's standard, what's to upset about?
This is why I love them. The current scale is just plain bad.EDGE is probably the only publication that has a scale that makes sense and it's not 7 to 10 and people riot.
*shrug*
