🧰 Latest drivers: (as of 24/02/2022)
AMD: 22.2.3 *
Nvidia: 511.79 *

* Game-ready driver.

🎩 Tips and tricks:
Cap the frame rate/potentially improve frame times:
Download RivaTuner Statistics Server (if you use MSI Afterburner, then you already have it installed), input your desired framerate limit in the "Framerate limit" box, and hit Enter . Alternatively, those with an Nvidia GPU can either cap the frame rate at the driver level via the Nvidia Control Panel (requires the 441.87+ drivers) or use Nvidia Inspector to force a vsync internal lower than one-half (click the small tool icon to open the game profile section).
Note: Useful if your system can't maintain, say, 60fps and you're sensitive to the wild fluctuations, or you're experiencing uneven frame times. The greater window the engine has to render a given frame, if you're imposing a lower frame rate than the game can otherwise provide, may also help in alleviating stuttering related to data streaming.

Possible fix for framerate / stutters via Reddit
Exit the game. Go to your windows bar and search "graphics". Click on "Graphics Settings". Choose desktop app and click "browse". Search through your drive for the game files and set the options to "High performance". Start the game. LMK if this helps!

edit: I also disabled steam overlay for the game, and chose to run Steam itself on high performance, too.

edit2: For increased frame rate: just set the global "Shader Cache Size" setting in NVIDIA Control Panel to "Unlimited": https://i.imgur.com/wm4y2GU.jpeg -credit u/bobasaurus

Lets pray that the day one patch will fix most of the performance issues.

That thread title lmfao

Will be playing on PS5 for the time being but godspeed to the PC players, hope it's not too much of a disaster <3

I watched three YouTube reviews and they all said it ran fine except for some localized stuttering (before the patch) and maybe one or two crashes. Other than that one reviewers tweet is there some reason people are worried that the game will be unplayable? The level of concern seems weird.

Anxiety is the scaffolding of this entire forum, without it, there would be nothing.

Can't even use the latest drivers on my laptop. Praying the optimizations aren't that massive.

The video review I just watched seemed fine. Apparently the game runs fine with a few instances of localized stutter and a couple of crashes in 60 hours. YMMV. I'm not too concerned.

I've seen the Fextralife and FightinCowboy reviews and they both mention that the performance on PC was...not good. Both with high end PCs who suffered from regular frame drops and memory leaks. Game is still entirely playable but it did detract from the experience for them.

2080S, 9700K, I'm not TOO worried honestly, but I'm a little wary. 1440p, high/ultra settings should hopefully do fine, and I'll be running it on an SSD. It'll be interesting to see if the stutters are more, or less apparent, depending on the individual system.

I'm going to be playing on an eGPU with a 3060Ti in it to an i7 9750H laptop over Thunderbolt 3.

Pray for me.

lmao love the thread title. I think I'll YOLO it and grab this off Steam. I don't like that the console versions are unlocked and would rather max this out and lock to 30fps to avoid all the drops people were seeing.

I have a 3060 TI playing on a 4k tv.

No FSR, DLSS , DRS or even simple upscaling. All I want is to keep a sharp 4k hud!

Well I have a 10th-gen 11260H with 6c/12t so I have no worries about CPU performance, my 3050 Ti has me a bit concerned though, due to the 4GB VRAM.

How will my 3080 EVGA FTW3, 9700k with 32gb Corsair 3200 CL16 ram run Elden Ring?
The answer is, "Well enough that you shouldn't insult people with far weaker systems by being the person asking such a question with a freaking RTX 3080 on deck."

I really hope this ends up being a bit overblown, if not, I'm pretty confident it will be fixed at some point so it is what it is

Yo, this title is foul. Boooo!

You PC guys gonna get those amazing mods soon enough though.

As a console guy, I get a bit jelly at all of those Dark Souls 1 and 3 mods.

I hope the performance issues aren't too bad and get patched out quickly.

Finally, the thread title this game deserves lol.

I'll be taking my sweet time hoping they iron out the optimization issues over the next few days/weeks. Helps that it's a 100+ hour game based on the reviews... then again, I think the first major CP2077 performance update came just after I'd spent nearly 120 hours beating it smh. Hopefully From or modders deliver!

Any word on when the Digital Foundry video post-patch will be released?
