Quite high for min, above a PS4 Pro.

Yeah, considering that even on PS5 couldn't handled 60FPS I was expecting something like that... such a shame considering how well Sekiro ran on lower spec PCs.

rest in peace 1050Ti

nah, jk. they're probably aiming for a 1060 (and 12GBs of RAM) just to cover their bases. I'm sure a 1050Ti will probably be able to run the game close to (or better than) the One S

If the base PS4 can run this game at 30ish FPS at 1080p, these are probably for 1080 60

Why the complaints about 12gb

Who, in the 2022, the year of our Lord, don't have a min of 16gb in their gaming PC

I really hope sites like DF have their technical analysis video uploaded before the game releases because i have no idea where to buy the game(at least day 1)

Saw somewhere else that the FPS was locked to 60 and that there was no UltraWide support? Do we know much more about the state of the PC port this time around?

Also those specs are a joke, both for being so high on Minimum and for not giving any context for the use case these apply to and the experience they offer

The ram requirement doesn't seem particularly unreasonable for an open world game. It's better than imposing load screens because the cpu has to read from disk.

Probably people on more low end gaming laptops are often stuck at 8GB of Ram and no way to upgrade due to being soldered. And currently people on DDR4 memory might not want to upgrade since it's a dead path versus DDR5. Currently I have 16gb of Ram and don't want to waste money on more DDR4 even though 32GB is starting to become more of the norm for high end gaming.

i think all From Software games are locked to 60fps due to engine limitations. they aren't really designed to go beyond that but someone will mod in unlimited FPS real quick though. it might not be a great experience but it will need to do.

So recommended for Sekiro is:

  • RECOMMENDED:
    • OS: Windows 7 64-bit | Windows 8 64-bit | Windows 10 64-bit
    • Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K | AMD Ryzen 5 1400
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 | AMD Radeon RX 570
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Network: Broadband Internet connection
    • Storage: 25 GB available space
    • Sound Card: DirectX 11 Compatible
Minimum specs for Elden Ring are higher than then recommended for Sekiro.

Ugh I might just get it on PS5 if I can't guarantee a locked 60 on PC with my 6700k

Sekiro ran great at a locked silky smooth 4k/60 even on my old PC, I'm confident Elden Ring will be great on my 3080 except the 60fps limit argh

i'm happy to see raised requirements. that's just the nature of PC gaming...and with a new console generation it's no surprise the requirements are a bit higher.

i'm glad i didn't listen to the people telling me that 16GB would be enough for years. I'm seeing games use 14GB and even as much as 24GB.

But Elden Ring is playable on Xbox one and PS4 and these min specs are more demanding than similar PC hardware to those consoles. Your post makes zero sense.

yeah but we won't be playing the PS4/XB1 version of the game on PC so your post makes zero sense.

Could recommended specs be for raytracing?
that's what i was thinking but this is minimum specs so they shouldn't really be including RTX cause you'd have that off. if RTX was forced then it wouldn't have a 1060.

I played it on my old laptop with 4GB of ram so yea think requirements are bullshit.

Ram (not DDR5) is cheap anyway. It's only GPUs that are an issue

not that you can read much into this but I do want to one day live in a world where a game can have relatively demanding specs and people won't immediately shout bAd OpTiMiSaTiOn

That's not really surprising. Sekiro isn't an open world game and Elden Ring is. Elden Ring also has a day/night cycle.
