Oh hey, this is my kind of thread. Didn't know we had one of these, figures it'd be buried on page 3 or 4 somewhere.

I haven't been clubbing in ages but I've been catching up on a bunch of releases I've missed this year, so far this has been a highlight, fucking love Bill Converse:

also Varg - Crush is AOTY

Croatian Amor & Varg - Body of Water EPOTY

Yeah it is, Varg can be hit or miss for me at times but Crush is really, really sick

Any thoughts on the latest album from Jean Michel Jarre? Quite interesting mash of styles if I may say so. 70 years old and still going strong!

Best Available Technology - Enginetics & Plasmalterations release is a glimpse at god, breathe-taking

Oh yes. I wish I had the money for this. I have a 12th Isle shaped hole in my collection.

"Unfortunately", I splashed out on Posthuman - Mutant City Acid for myself and the Shall Not Fade compilation as a Christmas present for my bro.

Liking the look of the Mix cloud Patreon style subscription system coming in. I've not done a mix in two years but just got a new laptop. Can get on the vibe again.

For some reason, I'd missed out a mix from my mixcloud archive, here it is:

Hopefully I'll be able to do some regular tales from the promo stack soon!

Yeah, good to see Tom cutting a path at RA. He's spent a lot of time immersed in electronic music culture in the middle East etc, certainly his specialist subject.

Gotta say, it's one nice way to end the year with Overmono - Quadraluv. Goddamn I dig this track, the grooviest thing they've released so far:

Double-post time...

Want to recommend an album I just discovered, Zanias - Into the All. Absolutely amazing end-of-year surprise, good blend of techno, EBM and synth-/darkwave with great vocals:

I made an inventory of all the 2018 albums I've listened to so far, and realized just how many damn good albums there were yet again. I had to do a top 20 list since I wanted to cram in/list so many, but it was super-hard to get some order to them. I also don't know if there will be any last-second upsets too, some remaining albums incoming but doubtful they'll jump in here. So for now, this is my list!

  1. Ancient Methods - The Jericho Records
  2. Dax J - Offending Public Morality
  3. Skee Mask - Compro
  4. Zanias - Into The All
  5. Varg - Nordic Flora Series Pt.5: Crush
  6. SSTROM - Otider
  7. SHXCXCHCXSH - OUFOUFOUF
  8. Blawan - Wet Will Always Dry
  9. Inland & Julian Charrière - An Invitation To Disappear
  10. Daniel Avery - Song For Alpha
  11. Silent Servant - Shadows Of Death And Desire
  12. Tapan - Europa
  13. SCNTST - Scenes And Sketches From The Lab
  14. Clouds - Heavy The Eclipse
  15. Oscar Mulero - Perfect Peace
  16. Ron Morelli - Disappearer
  17. Surgeon - Luminosity Device
  18. Vril - Anima Mundi
  19. Shinichi Atobe - Heat
  20. The Field - Infinite Moment

Double post, but since Era is the only forum I visit nowadays, you guys have to be the ones that I share this with. ;)
Have a few days off work and spent yesterday evening doing digital cratedigging for another new mix, which I made this morning.

George Hefner - Let's Do The Freaky Dance

Also, I bought a ticket for Awakenings Easter Sunday on the 21st of April, going to be my first ''night''' party in years, I've only been visiting day festivals in the spring/summer for quite some time, so hope I will be able to stay awake for the whole night as DJ Rush is ending it starting at 06:30 in the morning and I'd rather not miss that as he's an alltime favorite of mine.

I just got brutally hooked on DJ Shadow's Endtroducing... album.

This is so fucking good, I've listened to it at least once per day the last few weeks.

Has anyone checked out Modeselektor's new album yet, Who Else? Damn good stuff, if you ask me. Mostly techno or similar, with some grime influences.

The favorite track at a first glance is "Prügelknabe", an awesome drum workout that ends in some good electronica halfway through.

I've been sent something new to review. Something different. A drum machine!

I've got an Arturia Drumbrute Impact sat in the kitchen. \o/

I spent about 10 minutes making noises with the FM Drum, pretending I was doing something like Erotic Discourse or something. Good fun though. I've just not been able to get my head into the review space in recent months, despite a lot of decent releases going around. Barely been listening to promos. Hopefully this will kick my engines into action again.

Does anyone have any recommendations for me? I need to find some new house music from the last decade.

I love Hed Kandi / Ministry of Sound. I'm the kind of person who listens to "The Love is Gone" on repeat 10 plus times by David Guetta.

Did my first ever Berlin-trip but only had the opportunity to go out on Sunday. Naturally tried Berghain with no expectations but there being no line threw me so I fucked up a bit with the guards, ended up at Griessmuehle instead and had a freaking amazing time. Can't wait to go back, even if Rotterdam/Amsterdam have some spots that are on that level on a good night.

Goddamn, Zenker Brothers - Sorting Peanuts must be my favorite track in a looong time.
