They are throwing money at customers and at developers/publishers. It's a very brute force way to establish their online store. It has another cost though, they are burning a lot of goodwill with some of their exclusivity deals. Are these free games enough to mend those bridges?

I've seen the strategy work though, free (good) games is a great way to bring people to your store.
