I pre-ordered Pokemon: Sword and Shield Double Pack from Amazon and I received an email at 5:24 AM Eastern Time today (November 16th) stating Amazon is giving me a refund:

It happens all the time. You preordered it at 120$. At some point, after the time you preordered it, it was at 100$, so you got a refund. It happens at each preorder on amazon.

How does Amazon price Nintendo items? Does Nintendo set prices for their stuff on Amazon? Like did Nintendo price the double pack at $119.99 when it was announced for pre-ordering then Nintendo decided to lower the price of the double pack?

Amazon is price matching the other sites that are selling it for $99.99

It might be that enough people price matched it to WalMart that they lowered the price and that triggered refunds due to the lowest price guarantee?

I'm not sure what happened to my bundle, tracking says it was delayed. Already got the refund though. No code for the preorder bonus bag yet.

Done in one. Most games I preorder from Amazon get some form of refund. I even got a refund for 5 cents once
