It’s not a criticism of the thread or anyone’s interest in it. I'm personally unfazed by these updates because they’re seemingly being sensationalized.
While I agree with the extreme sensationalism of these events and the “trump going to jail now” posts (he’s not going to jail, period.) it’s easy to ignore these posts and talk about what’s happening. It is still news and it is big news. Trump has normalized a lot of shit that in any other administration would be huge news on their own individual happenings.

He's fucking rambling and legitimately made up a pretend reporter that dislikes him but called this "ridiculous."
Trump just seems like this useless person whose collected the loyalty of equally useless people.

All he has to do is provide a statement of support, distance himself and something like "i'm confident we'll see our great justice system reach the right outcome".

Instead as ever hes looking for a fight.

Why is it always the ones with the suspiciously low post count that spout shit like this???
I've been around the other place for years and here since the start, making posts like this is just my incredibly bad habit borne of becoming incredibly sad and jaded with current events. I admit I should probably stop. I don't have as many posts on Era because I spend more time on Twitter these days.

But nah I'm a Russian shill or something, go with that.

So this is about them using campaign funds to pay off Stormy then. This is what happens when you combine being incredibly cheap with being incredibly dumb.
And here Trump states yet again in the clearest terms possible that he believes it to be the job of the Attorney General to run interference into investigation of his crimes and act like the president's personal lawyer. Still patiently waiting for our "concerned" Republicans in congress to weigh in on this.

Shook. Can’t even talk correctly.
Fuckin three scoops of ice cream for desert today I'm sure. 'I did nothing wrong, I'm the greatest President the world has ever seen. President Obama didn't stop the Hillary Clinton, this is a witch hunt. Thank you very much. Thank you.' *Shoves spoon into fat face*

This doesn't seem like a big deal.
Yeah the umpteenth person close to trump is under Federal investigation. This time because his personal lawyer payed over 100k on behalf of his client to commit a crime and cover up an infidelity of the person who would be the president of the united states. No big deal tho.

My favorite hot take from the Donald

This has gotten so out of hand. I don't think they were prepared for Trump to be the first clean politician in history. I'm sure they thought "we'll find SOMETHING. No one is clean" and then almost 2 years in....still nothing
Yes, that's the takeaway here

Don't mind my boy crankyjay, he's just a little sore the bills are about to trade away an entire draft for Allen.

That sort of reality would numb even the strongest man.

If I were to remake my post as a better post it would go something like this:

I want to believe this will lead to some kind of serious consequences but I've seen similar clamor around every other break in the case so far and my (admittedly limited) perception is that none of them have amounted to a whole lot yet. I'd absolutely love to be wrong, it's just really hard to see through the haze of pessimism and despair that hangs over everything these days. I'm open to someone helping me understand why this is the big one in a way previous developments weren't.

Is that more substantive?

I’m waiting on Fox News to call in their body language expert, I’m sure they have her being raced into the studio right this moment.

Trump can't do anything. I think literally everything he can do will speed up the process and perhaps broaden his criminality.

He needs to fif'it from here on out. He wont, of course.

I’m confused. In what way did the Stormy Daniels thing pave the way for this?
By bringing the payoff for silence to light, the President's lawyer had to say that he did everything wihtout Trump's knowledge. It raised questions about where he got $130K to give Daniels. From there it snowballed into money laundering, and campaign finance fraud.
