Just FYI, Gamefly has the console versions on sale for 14.99. They're gently used but a pretty steep discount for a 4 month old game.

I have yet to play it but am tempted at this price. Is it worth the dive considering the initial negativity? Has it improved to a point that it's worth a few dozen hours of my time?

I've already spent > 76 hours in it (I know cause I got the 76 hours challenge done). I think it was worth full price honestly (I enjoyed those 76 hours, still enjoying it. And they are addign stuff and have more stuff to add). Yeah, it's buggy but then I've enjoyed previous Bethesda games and they are buggy too so not sure why I'd be upset about it this time. And because it's mp bethesda is still bothering to support and bug fix it unlike their SP games.
Nope. Only other thing added content-wise was a new event:
- New Seasonal Event Quest – Fasnacht Parade: Aid the dutiful bots of Helvetia with their Fasnacht preparations and parade to banish Old Man Winter, claim some sweet loot, and have a chance to claim fantastic Fasnacht masks.
Wasn't the budget increased for camps? At mine and got a lot more in my budget when I remember I couldn't even build a chair.
It's easy to miss, or someone might have already taken it before you get there, but there's a full chess set on the second floor of the building you go into looking for the password in the new quest line.
Question about the update. Will they be adding more quests and items over time. The trailer showed a bunch but only thing I think we got was the brewing stuff.
The brewing system was the first of several planned releases. The Fallout 76 website has a detailed list of what will be arriving in weeks to come, and the dates to expect them.
So has the game been "fixed"?
And is it more fun than it was at launch?

I'm loving it but I liked it at the start. But it does seem better now and less buggy.
PC on ssd is now pretty good overall.
X1X stutters but is playable
Pro less stutter overall plays ok
Yes I own all three and play weekly.
Is it better with friends or playing alone?
How hostile are people typically?

I like both alone and with a friend. Sometimes it's nice to have to depend on myself only as it makes it more tense but it's also fun to let things get really crazy with a friend.
People are not hostile in general. I have heard tales of griefing but only encountered it once. Most people seem helpful to at worst ignore you in my experience (PS4). People also love to help out new players. So far I'd say the playerbase is one of the best things about this game.
Played through both of the new quests last night. The brewing one is interesting enough but just a bit one-note, I guess the more important thing is the long term crafting possibilities from the brewing station.
I then did the parade event once, and it was probably the most people I've ever seen in one place, lol. Even more than the couple blast zones I did early on. The quest is kinda plain but I got a "Two Shot The Dragon" from the boss at the end, which I guess is supposed to be some sort of boss killer.
Obviously, the updates aren't super fleshed out at this point but it's nice to finally have at least a couple new things to look at and do.

I really regret dropping off the wagon a few months back as i loved my time with it. Sounds like now's the time to get back in.
Got it for 25. I have a friend who is willing to play with me but if he drops anyone wanna be back up on ps4?
Really annoying, I've gotten all the masks that are confirmed to be actually dropping, the beret, nearly all the plans, if not all of them, I'll have to double check how many I have tomorrow, but I still haven't gotten either recipe, and those were what I wanted most from the event.
Heh, I have both the recipes but I really want htat death mask and the ribbons poll (one I know is really rare). Btw, did you get the death mask, it's one of the rare ones they were debating on if it drops at all.
The new quest was short, not bad but I guess since it introduces a new crafting system it's ok. Gotta do the parade event still. I do hope the next quest series added is more meaty.

I've only encountered 2 people who attacked me for no reason and that's with over 176 hours. Most players are nice and just wave to you or wanna look at what you have.
Just yesterday I saw a lower level player and he asked for food and water. Gave him everything I had and even a legendary weapon I didn't want.
No, I think the death mask is one of the ones that's not legitimately dropping yet. Finally got the donut recipe today, now I just need the sausage recipe and three more plans. If you're on PC I have an extra ribbon pole plan.

This event is starting to get to me. I didn't get anything new today, and I got the flagpole plans four times in a row.
The event not running every hour? Also I have doubled up on a few rewards so anyone on pc or x1 in need of a certain item just ask because I may have a spare.
Only negative with the event for me is I'm starting to notice people just camping the Sloth. They're killing it before I even see it so don't get anything.
Where can you get plans for power armor? I've been selling a bunch of stuff and have 12k caps but really don't wanna waste 5k on mods.

Power armour is mainly found around the map but Excavator is a quest and so is Ultracite power armour. X01 is rewarded for an end game quest (no spoilers)
Oh I meant mods. I actually finally built the excavator yesterday after having a boatload of spring. Got a full set of X-01, T-60, Ultracite also.
Do you happen to have a spare sausage recipe on PC? That's the only thing I still need from this event besides the ultra rare masks.
The sun, jester, old man winter, skull, and goblin masks. Bethesda says the drop rate is working as intended, but as far as I know only one person has confirmed getting one of the rare masks from this event.
I met some one who said he had seen a few people with them but I have never seen them (other than on the robots) myself. It's possible Bethesda really did want them to be super rare. Good thing for me there is only one of those I really wanted (the skull/death mask that is on the musician). I suppose I wouldn't have minded getting the jester as well. The only thing I think I really want (that seems realistically possible to get) left is the plans for the streamer pole (I don't know the name but it has pole and streamers in the name). I even got the effigy :).
I bought the game a few days ago on a whim, and just had some fun in the parade event. Helped everyone kill a big ass mutant sloth and got tons of loot!
This is probably the comfiest setting of all the modern fallouts I have to say, but I still can't get over the lack of NPCs though, especially considering how much VA there is with the recording tapes on every other dead settler you can find.

Anyone on ps4 that can make any of these alcohols: Nukacola dark, lead champagne mimosa, tick blood tequila sunrise, tick blood tequila margarita? I can supply the tick blood tequila for the two that require it and I have a few of the lead champagnes for the mimosa. I can make quite a few alcohols excluding those, the lead champagne, the red ant lager, the White Russian, and any of the moonshines :( if you want that to trade or I have plenty of caps too (prefer to pay caps honestly).
I'm trying to get the drink 25 different alcohols weekly and unless biv gives me a few new recipes I am not going make it. And biv seems happy to keep giving me recipes I already know. I just need two of the ones listed.

I can make nuka-cola dark and tequila sunrise (you will have to supply the tequila). The tequila sunrise makes 3 drinks, so if I could keep one for myself to drink, there's no need to pay.

I have the recipe for both the Tequila Sunrise and the Tequila Margarita. I'd need the Tequila for either, and I'd need 3 Corpse Seed juices for the latter. I don't need caps or a trade. CorianderV on PSN.

Heh, thanks guys. I'll probably take up ash droid on his offer because I only have two tequilas at the moment and I need to drink one so I don't have to try to find enough flux to make another with his nor do I have corpse seed juice nor know how to get that.
I'll be available most of today, so just contact me on PSN or let me know here when is good for you. Also, if I can scrape together the ingredients for tick blood tequila, would you be willing to make a couple for me?
I think you get corpse seed juice from the "Death Blossoms" event that rarely happens in the northern part of the Forest. I've only seen it going a few times.
