The games nominated for the Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards 2020 have been announced. The live broadcast to reveal the winners will be held on March 7, 2021, from 19:15 to 21:15 JST. It will be available to watch in three languages, Japanese, English, and Chinese, on YouTube, Niconico, Periscope, Twitch, bilibili, and Weibo.

I feel like Ghosts will sweep this, but Sakuna deserves as much praise as it can get.

Its nice to see Yakuza get several nominations for its characters/performances... the Japanese VA's did such an outstanding job on the game (no surprise Namba and Ichiban are nominated) and its a pity they completely got passed over when it came to the game awards last year... I hope it wins something, that final exchange between Ichiban and
Masato
at the end of the game is still the most memorable part of any game I played last year.

I usually don't give a damn about this stuff but not nominating Ashley Johnson and Laura Bailey for best VA is frankly hilarious.

They are not the voice actors for the japanese version of the last of us 2

Edit: before you bring up Keanu the best actor category seems to be for the actual facial actors the characters were based on because all 3 of the characters nominated in that category are physically based and portrayed by that actor

Glad to see Tsushima in many categories. I like that they have different category for actors and voice actors (I hope Kazuya Nakai wins this).

Yeah, it seems to be a bit of a questionable category of singling out "actor actors" as in not seiyu, actors appearing "physically" in the games as opposed to the other category which is for voice actors from the "voice acting community". Hence why Jins American physical actor is nominated in one category but his Japanese dub actor is in the other.

Its not the first time, it was also nominated for this award at the game awards and amongst various outlets. In terms of narrative, it might not deserve to win for the pacing but it does very, very interesting stuff with narrative and narrative expectation, I think the nomination is fair enough. Narrative does not = plot. To add for what its worth Hades was best narrative for me last year - it did brilliant stuff with its structure to connect gameplay, plot and progression together in the roguelike genre.

I think Animal Crossing will sweep a few of these awards but the one that is genuinely interesting is Ghosts of Tsushima which I think will also do really well across categories.

    Animal Crossing: New Horizons took home top honors, as it was given the coveted Game of the Year award. It was also selected as the Best Game in China while Nintendo's development team was recognized for its work on the title.

    The winners were decided by Japanese fan vote based on games that launched in 2020. For the last two categories, polls were held in China.
