In case you missed the news, OnlyFans recently announced that they were going to stop allowong explicitly content on the platform, completly shutting the door to thousands of sex workers who had a safe way to earn income.

It's really concerning that these terrible people are supposed to represent "the best" players in the most popular videogames right now.

Let's not forget that just a couple weeks ago, FaZe clan was involved in a pump and dump crypto scam, targeting kids. At least that time, the couple members that planned it were expelled:

The hate that is being spewed right now online about sex workers is disgusting, and it's coming primarily from straight men.

I'll say it again, the stigma against sex in society is destructive and literally kills people, and it's coming from a place of toxic masculinity, bigotry and moral bankruptcy.

I abhor the fact that FaZe clan is such a huge name in eSports. The amazing thing is that this kind of shitty behavior would have gotten someone kicked out of my organization back the mid-2000s pro CS scene, but FaZe gives no shits.

Why shouldn't we care about the (literally) top player in the top games at the moment? Especially when a lot of people are trying to get e-sports to be widely recognized among society.

With "athletes" like those representing the medium, nobody will ever take e-sports seriously.

It's frustrating how hateful people are being about sex workers. It's a real job and should be decriminalized. I also want people to realize that sex workers are also the canary in the coalmines for the LGBTQ+ communities who will absolutely be kicked off by these kinds of decisions too, because of how companies see LGBTQ+ people as sexual in nature by simply existing. It happened with Tumblr, it will happen here, it will happen elsewhere in the future.
