I'm employed by a company that sells products (adult diapers) designed by and for those who fetishise them. I'm certainly not about to look down on anyone with unusual (see also, legal) sexual interests given kinky people are the reason I'm able to keep a roof over my head, food in my fridge and make a comfortable living besides.

Era couldn't handle my level of freaky. Some notes regarding the OP though
-Pretty sure bug chasing isn't really a thing anymore now that PreP is around. It makes sense that it would be a thing though given how fucking traumatic living through the initial AIDS scare must've been. That said, this is almost certainly one of those Internet urban myths where the backlash was way bigger than the number of people actually even considering such a thing
-Fursonas aren't fetishes any more than your Era username/profile pic combo is

Exposure to fetishes you aren't accustomed to can be off-putting, there is nothing weird about that. But that's their business and they know that if they put it on display.

But some fetishes are tame and some are extreme. No need to judge, just ignore if you want. You for sure probably have your own you haven't discovered.

Not all fetishes have to be in that category of fetishes you described, OP. I will say, though, that.... bug chasing crosses a certain line where the person's health is at huge risk, unlike something like wanting to kiss feet o_O

Even if you have a preference for wanting to do something tamer, like oral sex with a partner, or maybe there's a certain position you really enjoy, that can be considered a fetish

I have so many if I tried to list them all I'd probably forget a few

I mean it makes sense that they weird you out or make you feel slight discomfort. Part of the allure of fetishes is that society rejects them or that it's on the fringes of what is allowed.

Er, how are you defining fetishes? You seem to be defining it as "sexual stuff you find weird" so...yeah of course you are going to find it uncomfortable. What about a boobs fetish or a dick fetish? I assume that doesn't seem weird to you so, tada, there's some fetishes that don't make you judgmental.

I'm not saying they're all made equal, but typically fetishes are fully normal and not unhealthy if they're enacted between consenting adults. And by nature they don't really make much sense to people on the outside looking in. You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, OP.

Most are benign, some I do find funny, others seem to indicate maybe some sort of trauma or extreme repression, while a few out there can be pretty dangerous and/or stem from a more malevolent personality. Virtually everyone has something they're into, or fantasize about, though.

I think it's easier and simpler to tell people the kinks Im not into....it's a smaller list.

Real talk, public-oriented fetishes (as described in the OP as an example) are plain rude and often looked down upon in the BDSM community.

Keep it safe, sane, and consenting from all parties. Since you can't get consent from the general public, you keep it out of public.

If you haven't figured yours out yet, OP, it must be a really weird one. But don't worry, one day I'm sure you'll be revolting yourself into rapture soon enough, master of your own perverted domain.

My friend was propositioned by someone who did sound effects and compositing for a Broadcasting Company in the UK - he asked for my friend to sign up to a balloon porn site in exchange for full and then uncut television theme tunes (my friend collected them). He declined but we called the guy Phileas Fogg after that. I don't think they're in contact any more.

Most fetishes are fine, I don't understand the furry hate they're not harming anyone and seem to have fun. They're not exactly shagging actual animals.
Honestly, the idea of Furry sexual fetish I find hilarious. Probably because I'm a big college sports fan, and their suits just look like generic team mascots to me. The idea of a mascot orgy cracks me up lol.

As long as it's consenting adults I don't see the problem. Obviously there are limits, two people consenting to one of them murdering the other for kicks is not ok it goes without saying. Long-term or permanent damage is not cool with me. I think people involved in feeder relationships for example are harmful and abusive. But if you want to eat a turd, go ahead - as long as you clean up and I don't have to shake your hand or worse!
