FF7R Butterfinger promo starts March 3rd - Buy up to ~16 dollars of candy bars to unlock DLC.

You know how Star Wars does really weird branding like Vader on a bag of apples? Woulda been good in this situation.
Today I learned Crunch bars aren't made by Nestle anymore. Crunch used to be my favorite but I stopped buying them years ago partly because I was eating healthier, but also because Nestle is a shit company.
Buying two for old time's sake and getting a free PS4 theme isn't the worst thing in the world.

Makes me really sad to find out they changed the Butterfinger recipe for the worse, I was really forward to trying them again. The last time I had Butterfinger was in the '90s when they had The Simpsons commercials.
Offering rewards all the up to ten bars is ridiculous, that being said I'm probably going to end up getting two for the theme if it has music.

I really don't see the difference frankly. Foods have been using games as cross promotion since the dawn of the medium.
This isn't even the first Final Fantasy to do this so I don't understand the overreactions I guess. 14 had crosspromotions with honey bun for crying out loud. Yeah it's silly but but as long as it's not something genuinely important(which I don't think any of the listed items are) I don't see the big deal, at least not to the point some people in this thread are going.

Normally I'd think it's dumb but harmless if it was the equivalent of one honeybun, but "tiers" of rewards where you have to buy ten is a bit gratuitous.
I'll admit that's a new one to me and yes I think it's silly but I guess for something that sounds like it's just an in-game accessory it's hard for me to never upset. You can get the best reward(the theme) at two so it's hard for me to be upset at this I guess.
I like how not only is the game being broken into God knows how many parts, they're selling DLC in candy bars. Eat fucking shit, SE
Too bad Ferrero Roshit bought out Nestle, changed the recipe of most of their candy, and ruined all-time classics like the butterfinger, leaving one almost wishing they had a mouthful of salt or ammonia or windshield washer fluid
Putting this in spoilers because it's from the datamining.
Datamining suggests that all of these items have attached stats and in-game powers. For instance, the mako crystal gives you resistance to all elemental damage and the superstar belt resurrects you once per battle.
I have not read much online about Butterfingers since the recipe change so I have no idea if this thread is representative of most people's feelings on the recipe change but this thread is the first I've heard of people being negative about the recipe change. lol.
The recipe change made waves among coworkers, friends and family to a degree that I didn't anticipate with all the reviews being glowing (particularly for the Reese cup style Butterfinger they make). I grew up loving Butterfinger and I like the new recipe. I could be imagining this but I believe the taste was largely the same with a slightly more peanut buttery taste and I want to say that it didn't cake onto my teeth in the same extreme and terrible way Butterfinger did in the past but again I could be imagining this. lol
A pessimistic side of me wants to say that they pushed the game back to allow for more time to run this promotion, but that's just the thoughts of a madman.
