Their official accounts don't typically have the underscore in them.

EDIT: Nvm, XIV does. XV is just FFXVEN and FFXVJP.

Yup this basically disproves it - Square Enix never markets the games with the numbers, it's always the roman numerals. It's probably part of the style guide (and copyright)

They'd try every possible permutation of FF_XVI_EN/JP or even Play_FFXVI before they'd just go with 16

Also it's really not hard to buy a domain with the same number of letters as square-enix

FWIW we'll obviously get a FFXVI, and probably soon all things considered, but this ain't part of it

It's really not that hard to make accounts like these, we've seen this with the F-ZERO and Perfect Dark ones previously.

Unless FF16 is a huge shift in branding, it is unheard of and basically a cardinal sin for them to ever use numbers instead of roman numerals
