Aston seems like the most obvious choice for Newey. Honda, Stroll's wallet, state of the art facilities, his involvement with the Aston hypercar. I wonder if Max is going to follow him.
On the other hand, maybe Newey is done with F1. He's 65 and had that head injury accident a few years ago. I'm not sure how fit he is to have another go at it at another team. I am also reading that Pierre Wache at RBR is considered equally as important as Newey these days. So maybe nothing changes.
I wonder how much Horner's recent issues, and all the management fighting that ensued after, had to do with Newey leaving. As in, if Horner hadn't done anything, would he still be there?
It's being reported now that his contract requires 1 year of gardening leave starting with the end of the 2025 season, so he wouldn't be able to start work at another team until 2027.

As long as everyone at Ferrari promises not to remember any of it when designing the 26 car I'm sure it'll be fine.Does that include working on a totally unrelated active aero hybrid hypercar for Ferrari?

It would be a completely unrelated project after all I don't see any problems hereAs long as everyone at Ferrari promises not to remember any of it when designing the 26 car I'm sure it'll be fine.
Please define "everyone"Everyone wants a stint at Ferrari, this will be his swan song.
I'd be shocked if he left the UK. It'll be either Aston or McLaren.
Trying to imagine what you misread, hope it didn't enrage you! Please define "everyone"
Because I certainly don't belong in that group ;)
edit: misread, leaving it up anyway
I'm guessing the major UK ops are all quite close to each other? I'm wondering if a new position would also mean uprooting family, etc., or maybe just a short difference in commute time.
Newey has a place in South Africa. I'm not sure if geographical concerns are a thing anymore.I'd be shocked if he left the UK. It'll be either Aston or McLaren.

Apparently Horner thinks he doesn't need either of them and that he is actually the secret sauce behind all the successWonder what bearing that'll have on verstappen? Imagine if both newey and he left at the end of the year.
For Max, it's more about Marko and GP, i think.Wonder what bearing that'll have on verstappen? Imagine if both newey and he left at the end of the year.
Thanks. Aston is in Silverstone, which is 20 mins drive from Milton Keynes, maybe closer to 30 mins in traffic.Bit out of date, but...
I can't imagine much upheaval, basically, unless he goes to Ferrari.
His first marriage ended after he went to the US to do Indy, they had 2 kids, then he remarried in 92 and had 2 more. I believe the youngest of them is now mid 20s. If anything would have changed his mind in that respect it's that they are all grown up.Having a place in another country for visiting family (his in-laws are South African) is very different from uprooting your daily life at 65 and moving to Italy. He's always had reservations about doing that in the past when he was younger, I'm not sure what would have changed to make him change his mind.
The Aston linkage just makes a lot more sense. Brand new facilities, he wouldn't have to move anywhere, he gets to continue work on the Valkyrie project, and Lawrence will give him a blank check.
Even if Verstappen intends to leave I can't see him leave before 2026. I'm sure he still likes winning more than anything else, and regardless of who leaves and who stays, his best chances of winning next year are in the Red Bull.Wonder what bearing that'll have on verstappen? Imagine if both newey and he left at the end of the year.
