now i dont know that much about fighting games, so im curious to hear what you guys think about the rankings. especially elite members of the fgc. although i dont know how youll disagree with such hard science

I know nothing about the genre, but I LOVE that Toshinden 3, Fighters Destiny, and BioFREAKS show up on here. Throw Dark Rift at #1 and sprinkle in Cardinal Syn, Mace: The Dark Age, and Criticom, and I think you've nailed it. Peak list.

Street Fighter 2 was basically the fighting game benchmark on which other fighters were modeled. Virtua Fighter is the first 3D Fighter. Darkstalkers introduced mechanical flourishes to the genre like dashing/chains/alpha counters etc.

But correct my ignorance on the influence of Street Fighter and SSB. Wasn't SF1 predated by Karate Champ?
