Honestly pretty solid. Any new AASB is great. My Lightning is super decked out minus her Holy stuff so that's a good pickup for her although that's kind of a sidegrade to my decked out Marche. Quistis will be great for the Torment (I have her other stuff), I've got Edgar's USB and w-cast LMR so that Arcane is a good get as well. My only lightning chain was Shantotto (well Reno too I guess) so getting a physical one in Kain is nice even if it's gen 1 and I don't have anything else for him. And Aria's LMR is actually great since I've got her USB which is kinda needed for that FF3 torment so that will actually be useful there specifically.

I really need to sit down and figure out Odin teams now that my 5* decks are fully done and farmed, but maaaaan it's a roadblock. Also still haven't cleared most of the torments but I've got more than enough rubies currently.

I've barely participated, but Fest has been completely awful thus far:

RoP XIV: Papalymo Glint
RoP XII: Balthier USB1 (dupe)

Papalymo Glint is new but I need so much more for this realm to sub-30. I already tried, and the Glint makes no difference. I've yet to even eke out a victory with Balthier in my XII Torment team, far less sub-30. I could probably find a way to grind out a win, but sub-30 is still impossible.

Tonight was a trifecta of garbage pulls:

RoP 1: Garland BSSB1
500 Gem pull: 2/11 - Reno USB (dupe), Galuf CSB (dupe++++)
AOSB LD: 1/11 - Cyan

A gen 1 useless BSSB (only the En-Dark would be useful; his Glint would have been better, I have nothing else for him except his w-cast dark LMR), two useless dupes from the gem pull itself (these days I honestly no longer get excited about discos on any pull), and an AOSB for a character I only have two uniques, in a realm that I've already sub-30'd. All rubbish. Down 30 mythril and my account is no better for it. Sigh.

I still have my selection, but I'm holding off on that until the last day.

7/40, my highest quantity from one of these, with six discos:

Decent quantity of discos for one, but the quality is... eh. Luneth OSB, the dupe, and Jecht USB1 are all basically junk. Quina BSSB, Ace USB2 and Shadow USB2 aren't bad, but are months too late to be useful (already sub-30'd those Torments and they won't make D.ODin teams with those relics). Red XIII USB2 with Radiant Shield is potentially useful, but my earth team is 100% physical - I would need Red XIII's CSB and some better earth mages to make it worthwhile. But it's nice to have in my backpocket I suppose.

Overall, not great, but not terrible.

Fest Banner 1:

100 gems: 3* crap.

I think I'll stop here. Elarra AASB is the most important thing on this banner and the thing I wanted most. I still want her Glint+ and Tyro AASB, but I think I should quit while I'm ahead with the Auron/Hope land mines.

Bartz USB3 is his best USB if you're using him against Wind-weak enemies.

Faris USB3 is better than her USB2, but USB2 isn't bad due to debuffs. Could be useful to run both if can.

Sucks about your banner 1 pulls. I've been there.

That said, I saw you pulled Squall AASB? How is your ice team? You might want to consider off-element for Deathgaze, and it's been done with ice, at the very least.

What other Magic Holy do you have? Ark is much easier to beat without a chain than Deathgaze. In fact, relatively speaking, it's probably the easiest to no-chain.

Thanks for the advice on Bartz/Faris USBs I just got. I had the feeling indeed that Bartz USB3 could be good in pure wind teams.

Abouit Deathgaze:
My Syldra team was more or less: Snow CSB (+LS BSB), Squall BSB2/AASB, Celes USB(Speed Trick)/AOSB and Laguna SSB.
I guess the idea with an off element team is to Imperil as much as possible and couple that with a chain? I have the feeling that a gen1 chain might be lacking a bit too much without the associated boostga. But that's probably worth a try anyway (might even snag Laguna USB from lenses if that goes well).
My other plan was to try for Banner 4 to hopefully get TGC or Firion AASB for deathgaze and later buy Ignis BSB from lenses to build a no-chain crit party. Dunno how viable that is.

As for Ark, my current holy magic dps is Rem and Alphi AASB. Rest of my current team is Elarra, OK (De'dia mUSB) and Arc (USB1 but mostly De'dia). My better run were around 90% I think. I'm not far but when AASBs fade my dps loses a lot of steam.
I haven't tried much more because I wanted to wait for the fest but now I need to think about alternative ways. Things that come to mind:
- Lose De'dia on Arc (this thing is really too unreliable...) and try to use him as a proper dps with another copy of Holy. Might help push me over the edge.
- Stop using AASB to try to keep her in rage mode. Problem with that is that I have very few magic Holy dps USB. I think the only other one I have is Hope's. Might try anyway and maybe complete that with Rem USB from the lenses if this looks promising.

Even though those pull sucks, fest is not over and I'm gonna try to not be too negative about it. I got lucky at other moments (two AASBs from elemental draw and one from daily!) so it's never all black or white.
Besides, it will force me to think a bit outside the box to beat my current roadblocks and that's one of the things I like about this game :)

Switching from Edward USB to tellahs suicide USB was the key to go from 35 to 28. Basically I timwd it to suicide a turn or so before slot one was kod anyway so works well.

Haven't been following the meta, but how well does this fit? I have his USB3 so I presume I can run both and he benefits greatly from Wrathing as this counts towards his support use.

Tyro AASB is a slight improvement on his USB4, which is the best support USB in the game. Yes, it locks him into a Wrath/Entrust-bot role, but most were using him for that at end game anyway. After 5 support uses (Wrath or Entrust will work), your party will be at 100% critical, and every 3rd turn you'll get 50% more damage from criticals.

Finally beat Ark chainless this morning.
In the end all I had to do was switch some spell around. I had Rem: Holy/Holyja and Arc:De'dia/protectga.
Gave de'dia to Rem to build gauge for AASB and Holy to Arc to actually do some dps (with USB1).
In the end it was still a 45sec win with no hones left but that's still a win (PS: De'dia still sucks)

Also tried Deathgaze with my Ice team to see how feasible that could be...
That was ridiculously bad :)
The only video I found uses Tyro USB4 and Elarra USB2 coupled with Laguna CSB to do some stupid crit damage. Of course I have none of that and after the fiasco of banner 1 I don't even have Tyro AASB.

Only hope I see is grabbing TGC and/or Firion AASB on b4 and wait for Ignis BSB being available at the anima shop.

I also stopped after 5 Odins (Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Ice). Was making headway into Lightning-weak but it's been a couple months since I've tried. My Lightning tech hasn't gotten any better, but I may try it again just for fun. It's been a pretty quiet couple months for me in terms of end game content. Just have I, II, VI, XI torments to complete right now.

I and XI may be the most difficult for me at the moment.
