Hmm. While going through my inventory, I just noticed something: Ten of the last dozen or so USBs I've collected in the past three weeks, for characters who have multiple ones, I've only gotten their USB1, most of which are quite old. This even includes dupes:

Free draw on 20/12/18: Kain 1

USB LD: Vaan 1, Tifa 1, Emperor 1

FFT RoP: Ramza 1
FFXV RoP: Noctis 1 (dupe)
FFXIII RoP: Lightning 1

33 pull: Terra 1 (dupe), Locke 1

LMR Dream select: Zidane 1

The only character here for whom I have a USB2 is Tifa. Most of these are still welcome, especially Kain and Lightning (first 6+ lightning sword), but what odd luck.

This made me curious, so I went back and checked my own. 7/9 of the last 6*'s, from the last RoP up 'til now, were USB1s. Weird.

Another question (yes I have a lot of those :p ).

Currently I have these LM on Bartz:
Tempered Spellblade : Increase spellblade ability damage a small amount
Twinstrike Champion : Moderate chance for spellblade abilities to trigger twice.
Fragments of Grace : Very small chance for spellblade abilities to trigger three times.

Using Twinstrike Champion seems pretty obvious but I can't really decide which of the other two I should use. One looks better for consistent damage output but the other could really shine with a few lucky rolls. Is there any number somewhere from somebody who did the math to decide which is better?

Long story short is if you're capping your hits without the 10% damage, use the triple wcast.

If you're not and the 10% LM1 is allowing you to reach 9999 without any wasted overflow damage, use the damage LM.

Increase X damage LMRs are 10% more damage, and his triplecast is 10% chance to trigger.

So, the LMR is actually better by a considerable margin (+10% damage using LM1, and expected +20% damage using LMR)

Gosh Arc with that USB deals some damage. Went ahead and dived him for magic holy after running him in the torment.

Finished my 4th fight against Quetzalcoatl today so decided to tackle Behemoth King. Decided to use Edge strats.

Shelke Wrath/Entrust
Edge Phantasm, SSB
OK Meltdown/Chain Stonega, mUSB/USB3
Maria Chain Stoneja, BSB/AOSB
Galuf Lifesiphon, BSB2/CSB

Finished the fight in about 45s. Wasn't too bad of a fight. Time to farm a bit before heading to water.

The Type 0 d280 torment was kinda rough, but I think this was more due to it being one of my poverty realms. I managed to sub 30 it, but it took me about 2 hours of fiddling with party setups to get it.

The way wcast element LMs work in JP have been changed so that it now triggers individually per element.

Right now, people in JP are having a blast triplecasting with Raines BSB CMD1 as his LMR triggers on both the Dark and Light element of the command separately.

A change for the better, as several characters are now specialising in multiple elements.

Its his LM2 that double casts.

So with AA selection (if you still have it), anyone can have a pretty good dark/light chain builder for free .

I think average is like 7 hits per turn with instacast.

It's also instant cast. So yeah, there need to be a draw back. It sucks if he's your last standing character but otherwise Arcanes are finishers and it shouldn't matter.

It is pretty awesome that Kimahri of all characters is still one of the earliest to receive an AASB (plus an ASB to boot).

Shame there's only a 5* water dragoon ability, but eh, people like Cloud make do just fine.

Yea, Raines looks super fun in JP right now. I hope we get that balance change a bit early. I'd love to spam BSB / USB1 vs holy/dark magicite with Possible triple casts and a follow up.

Raines gets an USB2 with double ability and En-Dark during 4th anni. So he could triple cast anyway.

The 5* Dragoon ability is also instant cast. BUT it has a 3.2 multiplier, same as spellblades. Should still be decent DPS, especially when Kimahri w/ AASB is going to be dualcasting it 100% of the time with no Air Time.

Better hold off on Raines BSSB Triple Cast fun though - it might be a glitch that DeNA is "investigating". :/

Managed 50% on dWhale for the 3 torment. Could probably do better with some fine tuning but I'm ok with that for now. Haven't touched T0 yet.

Did a couple more of the RoP draws yesterday, this was the haul:

FFI - Matoya USB
FFII - Firion BUSB
FFIII - CoD USB
FFIV - Yang BSB (dupe), Edge LMR
FFV - Lenna USB (seems kinda like a weird USB but whatever)

Did way better than previous iterations of this draw. Wow.

Sub 30'd both T-0 torments, haven't tried the dWhale though. Took a bit of fiddling - not having a realm healing USB is really starting to show now.

Finally got around to knocking Transcendent Bahamut Fury. Did the first two on release, the D220 a few days later. Waited until now for the last fight due to time constraints.

BTW, God Cloud + Zack told the D220 "fuck your gimmick" and AOSB'd the last 65% HP at 40,000 x20 + 99999. Screw that RW crystal nonsense.

Transcendent = Galuf cheese (as usual, thanks to SolitaireD on Gamefaqs for his writeup) + Wind team (Cloud/Zack/Bartz/Alphinaud, all with BSSBs). Dropped chain in the last 25%, maxed imperil, and chewed through it quickly. Was a bit of a slog before than but completely painless, naturally. Won in 3.25.30, one medal lost for actions.

FFRK forgets that FFXI is a thing and it makes me sad since XI is one of my favorite games.

I'd love to learn more about XI and XIV as I don't play MMO's anymore, so RK is my biggest exposure to them and their stories.

I could just google them, but it's fun to play with the characters and do battles with them vs their bosses.

Plus Ayame remains the only EnIce Samurai in the game. At least there is Firion now as the omni-Samurai.

I honestly haven't touched the Magicites button in like 4 weeks. Don't even know what's in the Ice Magicite. Do we have Wind as well already?

4A, save me pls
Wind is up as well, but haven't even attempted any in there. I am super lazy with the magicites as well. Just kind of waiting around to spend some myth for items and give me some more drive.

XI legitimately has one of the best stories in the series. So many epic things happen and lots of little side quests that really flesh out the world if you're paying attention. I really hope that they will release a single player version of it eventually, but sadly I don't think it will happen.

XV is pretty good as well, but I only played that through the 2.0 relaunch. Life happened and couldn't devote any time to the expansions though I generally hear good things about them.

I did hear that XI is now playable solo? I read somewhere (who knows where) that Squeenix have given you NPC companions so you can basically play all the raids and stuff by yourself now?

Same here. I quit at the end of 2017, though I'd like to go back and check in on things on Siren if they ever have another Return to Vana'diel thing. I really do not understand why DeNA hasn't made more content for it; they've barely touched a tiny fraction of the things they could for FFXI. Surely it was popular enough in Japan and abroad, right?

Yeah, Alter Egos or Trusts are like summonable pets. Honestly, they played better than a lot of other players I encountered, haha. With iLevel gear and some knowledge, you can easily breeze through the storylines for anything pre-SoA expansion. Though even that and RoV can be solo'd with some skill.

Hmm, maybe if they release an offline, one off pay version, I'll jump in an experience it for myself.

The only story exposure I've had of XI was a YouTube vid of a giant Shantotto drop kicking another giant Shantotto in the face.

I quit shortly before Adoulin when Voidwatch was the main thing, so the companion at the time was only mildly useful. If it's been significantly improved then the bolded isn't surprising since XI is from the Old School Hardcore unforgiving mmo era. So many missions screwed up because one person didn't know what they were doing.

Pulled Cinque's USB from my 100 gem on B2 which I've wanted forever. Very very happy. I'll be motivated to try Quetz again when I get home.

Also did the raids today and saw Healing Smite for the very first time (despite having it R5'd myself already). Haven't bothered to use it...

It wasn't the animation I'd expect from it.

Heh, well that was more of a dig at the random players I'd come across in PUGs than anything else. =P But yeah, later Trusts are vastly superior to the early ones. With a good setup, you can solo not only most VW NMs, but even some from the final add-on's endgame area.

Nice pull! Think that pretty much makes her an insta-dive, right? I'm in a similar situation with Quetzalcoatl; having zero SBs for any Stone Press-capable character is making me wary of even trying him. There's Bartz's OSB (and USB2 finisher, I guess), but I dunno how feasible it is to constantly try to have that ready to go for Savage mode.

On the topic of Magicite, are they subject to the damage reduction thing like the party is? Like is Quetz's damage reduced against Famfrit and you have to use Behemoth King or what?

Yeah she was an instant dive. I also found out that I picked up Deuces USB at some point.

So I have 3 good USBs for Type 0 now, despite never actively pulling on an event banner for it; King, Deuce and now Cinque. I should try the torment. (but I've been so lazy lately)

And yes, magicites are also subject to the damage reductions. Bring the appropriate physical/magical one
