This looks like the most expensive japanese game I've seen.
That's what everyone said when the original came out too.

Looks great. Though I agree with PlanetSmasher in that they've gone way too far in making Sephiroth wooden.

It makes sense when we're dealing with Advent Children-era Sephiroth but flashbacks and such should definitely give us more emotion. I hope that's what they're going for. Guess we'll find out in Nibelheim.

could be just different angle, but I feel like they tweaked Elena's face a bit from last year?

Oh crap, I just realized this game is 100GB and I will probably also capture 100GB worth of footage. I just took all these Lies of P videos. ;_;

I need to free up space. Tell me, in Alan Wake 2, does it let you re-watch the TV show segments on the TV? Maybe I don't need to hang onto those captures, lol.

OK, now that is a fucking trailer.

I'm still irked by how much they've demystified Sephiroth in VII Remake, but I'll let it slide.

Love how the staccato at the beginning of the trailer misleads you into thinking "One-Winged Angel" is about to cut in, but it seamlessly transitions into the main battle theme. Perfection.

Sephiroth is so well known at this point that trying recreate that air of mystery around him is a fruitless endeavour. Put that fucker front and centre. Even people who aren't familiar with FF7 know him. Go wild

The problem is that he's not an interesting character on his own aside from the mystery. He's terminally incapable of saying or doing anything interesting, he just coasts entirely on the strength of his character design. But that man is mayonnaise otherwise. Blander than a provolone and mayonnaise sandwich on unseasoned, untoasted white bread.

If they actually put some effort into giving him an interesting personality or a fun voice, that would be one thing, but he's just an even blander Xemnas with longer hair in this.

That is definitely true. I'm watching streams of someone playing Remake for the first time that only knows them from Smash.

I don't think you have to be too worried. I think it was the last english trailer before this one, but there was a line from Sephiroth in the flashback "Am I even... human?" that I thought was excellently read and full of emotion.

This was edited like an MCU trailer and was hype as fuck. Can't believe it's so soon.

If you're referring to stuff like the commercials, then yeah. All the collectibles can be watched at any time after unlock in the two character's respective 'mind rooms.'

I think it's fine if they want to go a different direction, but you can still give a character an air of mystery and intrigue even if they're wildly-known. Just need to look at The Dark Knight, Infinity War, or The Batman for good examples of making incredibly popular villains threatening and mysterious again.
