Dude, its the video game market, you honestly don't have to look too hard for big breast representation. Big breasts aren't a minority in gaming.
I'm not sure you've seen many breasts outside of porn, anime, and video games because she absolutely is above average, she's just wearing two layers because sports bras exist.
Yea man, large breasts are just like.... SOOOOOO hard to come by when it comes to the video game industry. Like, hella low amount of representation.
GOOD female characters with big boobs and respectful designs are hard to come by. Tell me I'm wrong. And fine, you wanna pretend the many female friends of mine that have complained to me about feeling like they only get to be eye candy when represented in media don't exist, go right ahead.
You are being inconsistent here. In an earlier post you agreed that she has large breasts, but in this one you disagreed.
Your complaints should be directed toward devs then, not towards devs who give characters reasonable proportions at a higher fidelity instead of appealing to the lowest common denominator. And to reiterate, Tifa HAS a large bust in the remake. They just put more thought into how a character like that would dress like the rest of the cast. You'll notice that Barret now has a tank top on underneath his jacket as an example. So is your issue that her outfit isn't as sexualized?

Maybe my frame of reference is busted by the friends I've happened to have in real life, I don't know, but while the new Tifa is clearly not small, I just don't think she's as large as she should be, that's all. I'm not saying H-cups or THAT one CG from the original game,
It's those kinds of statements that bother me. People trying to be inclusive but then shitting on people with body types further from the norm. My ex had a really fucked up body image because of people acting like she was somehow unrealistic, or ridiculous, or absurd.
But my complaints do go toward shitty pander-y devs. I don't play gacha games or dumb anime trash that makes every female a sex object.
EDIT: If you check my earlier comment I outright state I like the new costume. My only change would be the gloves. I wouldn't even have cared if she went more modest on the outfit. It's just the body type. And even then, I point out that it's possible that her black undergarment is meant to be a sports bra and its just doing its job very well.
Like I said above, it's very possible my perception is just skewed by the woman I've happened to know. I dunno.
I won't lie and say I wasn't expecting something closer to that fan made render people were posting a few months ago, but this design is overall really good. The thigh highs are a weird choice but I guess I'll get used to it.

Sure, put words in my mouth. I think it's indisputable that Barret's design is far more unrealistic than Tifa's. To get a body even close to Barrett's you have to be on some serious steroids and put unholy hours into the gym, on top of having kickass genetics.

Barret is a power fantasy made by men to appeal to other men. The vast majority of men don't feel insecure looking at Barrett because beauty standards for men are different and thus seeing a character like Barret=a dopamine trigger in the same way that Cloud is carrying a huge dick metaphor is perceived as badass. Look no further than the fact that there's no way in hell that you genuinely feel a single ounce of insecurity when you look at Barrett yet felt the need to present that false equivalence as a hypothetical.
Quite frankly dumb rhetoric genuinely shouldn't be considered as a serious talking point.

Of course there are, but you'd have to admit that it's not nearly to the same degree as Western videogames or comics. Not even remotely.

They can really keep the hype going with this until launch by showing the old cast reimagined for the Remaster. So despite us knowing what they look like we're still excited to see them again here in their PS4 glory. And that goes for locations too. Can't wait to see more.

It was the only negative of the new media to me. I'll be really happy the day when we have a black man in a Japanese game that doesn't sound like he was plucked out of a Blaxploitation epic.

You could make the argument that because of her features, background and last name that she was intended to be "Western", at least in comparison to the more blatantly Asian character (Yuffie Kisaragi).
She doesn't even look Asian here, not like she did in Advent Children. She and the other characters fall under that line of "Photorealistic Anime" most FF games follow nowadays.
I mean, "big breasted women need more representation" isn't exactly offensive but it's a hilarious thing to say in the context of the gaming industry and a thread highlighting a character with large breasts but *gasp* an outfit that's actually reasonable.

I saw one thumbnail of Claire in some skimpy...thing that I can only describe as stripper wear and was like, "what the fuck are they doing to Claire?!"
