So a bit closer to CC's version.
So a bit closer to CC's version.
It was initially announced as coming first to PS4. Admittedly that was like 4 years ago, but there's no reason to believe it won't come to PC at some point down the line.Is this game confirmed as PS4 exclusive - like, not timed exclusive?
I have a base PS4 but I will get a high end PC next year and I just can imagine I would even be able to wait a year for 1440p/60FPS...
Agreed. I love Ifrit looking more inspired by his original look OVER his Crisis Core redesign. As someone who loaths the FFVII Compilation, this brings me LIFE!Ifrit looking more like he did in the original gives me hope they won't give Vincent his shitty DoC transformations redesigns. Hell, maybe even add one or two more. Have a Killer Clown form for him.
I do agree that they all look great except for Tifa, in some shots she looks a bit odd like they decided to give her a moe kind of look which doesn't rally mesh well with the more realistic aesthetic. Aerith, Barret, Rude and Cloud look fantastic though.
The game was unveiled as a "Play first on Playstation 4" kind of thing, so make of that what you will. My bet is that they'll release a GOTY edition a year later for PS5, Scarlet and PC.Is this game confirmed as PS4 exclusive - like, not timed exclusive?

Original FFVII Ifrit's just a limited polygon model take on Amano's classic Ifrit:Original VII Ifrit has to be one of the worst designs in the series.
Yeah, maybe some stuff will be fixed for the final release, they got 6 months. I think Aerith looks fantastic here. Some people think she looks too old here but remember, she's 22. Her face is supposed to have a bit more definition because she's essentially a young adult.I'm thinking the CGI (or if it's real-time or a blend of both) portions will be great as usual, especially the scene we just saw with Aeris (I prefer saying this name lol) in her dress as she looks at Cloud. The in-game/real-time models might have some awkward angles for them as well. I've noticed the same for Tifa as you mentioned too. Aeris has some awkward angles too, especially on the trailer scene that leads up to Cloud having his arms around them (Around the 1:10 mark of the latest trailer).
KotR is going to be so extra in this game('s sequels)FFVII had the most vanilla summon designs in the series
The only memorable ones are the game exclusive summons like KOTR and Bahamut Zero

Don't forget Kujata! It has a pretty neat design and should look extra cool in the remake, especially when you consider the Mobius design.FFVII had the most vanilla summon designs in the series

Lightning wig for Miss Cloud!KOTR have old Noctis show up amongst the kings, would be a cool Easter egg. But Nomura wouldn't dare..
They might tie them to those ghosts we've seen a few times now. Like those are revenant husks caused by the lifestream being sucked out of the planet, and the summons are positive entities of concentrated lifestream energy. Maybe helping the heroes because of Aerith's lineage and their pure intentions to help the planet?Do you think they'll give a background or some focus to the summons as entities? In the original they were just there (not that there's anything wrong with that).
I could use some background info (in a bestiary or whatever) provided it's well made and not invasive.
I mean, it's a different team and a different engine (and this seems to be be a mix between KH's summoning system -or even XII- and the classic style).
Yeah, if they're to ever give them some sort of explanation or justification, it's most definitely going to be tied to the Lifestream and the Planet. I just really want that bestiary to explain stuff like Monodrives, Hell House, Eligor... That could be fun although also potentially too on the nose. They might tie them to those ghosts we've seen a few times now. Whatever they do, I'm sure it will be less random this time around.
You could only do so much with Gourad-shaded polygon models back then. It wasn't until they got good with texture-mapped models that we saw cooler detailed character, enemy and summon models in the FF games. Because of the amount of crisp detail they can do with this remake, I'm guessing they are going to go all out with the summon designs, and make them more intricate than they were before. Why have I not noticed Ramuh's derpy eyes until now xDYou could only do so much with Gourad-shaded polygon models back then. Titan ain't going to look like a giant, smooth-skinned, white-haired dude with some jewelry:
Dude's arm and leg braces are going to be decked out in detail and etchings, his jewelry's going to look super complex and his skin might have a sorta rocky/craggy shape to it.
Ramuh's not gonig to be dressed in such a plain looking robe, but it will be adorn with lots of sewn in patterns and embroidery. They are going to kick 'em DOWN with the detail!

Sephiroth:
During the time when the Ancients prospered there existed beings that grew up bathed in the abundant Mako.
They were pure creatures of natural shape. Several remain even now.
These beings sealed their consciousness within materia, altering their lives for eternity.
Aerith:
The summon materia…
Sephiroth:
Correct. Such a clever girl.
The creatures that protect this temple have lived long and seen countless ages pass.
They belong to this planet even more than you.
Shit, I didn't know that (or maybe I forgot, because it kinda sounds familiar).
I mean, it's a different team and a different engine (and this seems to be be a mix between KH's summoning system -or even XII- and the classic style).
KH3's special attacks and sequences looked insane too.

There it is. I don't think they'll do much regarding that, but I can see a short explanation (even if it's in a menu description). After all, they're seemingly taking some inspiration from cut/original ideas for this, like the Keepers of Fate.
Are the Keepers of Fate inspired by cut ideas? I must have missed that
Iirc, the original idea for the sephiroth clones was to have them appear as floaty, cloaked things that would transform into sections of jenova. Dunno if that's apocryphal info thoAre the Keepers of Fate inspired by cut ideas? I must have missed that
"In an early version of the game script, the Sephiroth Clones were not people, but, rather, parts of Jenova floating in the air covered by their cloaks. During important plot points they would reveal themselves to be pieces of Jenova's body: her right arm, heart, etc. They also replaced Sephiroth in several scenes, such as the pivotal one in the Forgotten City".Are the Keepers of Fate inspired by cut ideas? I must have missed that
Watch the gameplay they released. It sounds alot better there.
It seems we might see Wall Market during the day?
It's gotta be the mixing/overlapping in the trailer. Without the flow of delivery it sounds far worse than it should. It's much better in the gameplay demosI dont know why people keep saying the voice acting is bad...it sounds like normal english dub voice acting to me...nothing particularly off about it. are there so many weebs around here?
Jessie's English voice is too good. I love her so much. More every time they show more of her.
