Hopefully Yoshi-P didn't give into Phil, here. The big sticking point for years was that MS wanted seperate servers, I really hope that Phil was the one who gave in and that Xbox players are on the regular servers

Very doubtful. It requires its own monthly subscription on both PS4 and PC.

No. Seems that the main hurdle always was Sony blocking crossplay (which Yoshi P always said was necessary to put the game on any other platform).
I don't think a Switch version is possible. The PS3's limitations were holding the game back when it came out in 2013, and I don't think the Switch version would be much better.
The hurdle here was MS, not Sony.

Nah it's never been because of Sony. Even in Spencer's comments there you can see that he's implying it's them.

Glad MS is finally willing to change their policies and allow crossplay on this game though. It means that they will not be able to allow Xbox players to turn on a setting to only play with other Xbox players.
Will get it on there if the base version ends up cheaper than a month of sub. Same reason why I own the Playstation versions.
Literally posting this while I'm standing around in Kholusia, gathering mats for the restoration so it's not like I'd really need any extra options, still intend to show my support for it tho.

In which case has Sony allowed crossplay with Xbox until recently?
You will have to give reciepts about this, This was never about sony blocking crossplay for 14 and about xbox denying the game multiple times. It's only been recently that square has said they made progress with xbox to bring the game over.
Has nothing to do with understanding the word "both". You're just pulling that out of your ass to blame both.
