Very glad I got my 2B coffer on my second weekly run. Got the 9S card the first week (didn't really need it b/c I don't like it more than my current 5* card and you basically have nothing to do with other 5* cards b/c of the restrictions), got the 2B coffer the second week, really the only thing I want are the minions and luckily those are one per person with no way to get around it, so it's basically just a matter of time for those

I did ShB like 2 years after release, so don't worry.
2 years after release
psst
future boy
you wanna give me some of those winning lottery numbers, we'll split it 50/50, buy everything on the MogStation, it'll be great

But in all seriousness, I haven't done the StB alliance raids yet, I heard there was a lot of quitting so I'm not eager to dive into that even though I'm very interested in them story/concept wise. My NieR runs have been pretty smooth, so I'm guessing that won't be a problem with the ShB raids

Jesus Hades Ex is relentless. ilvl 450 they said... ;-;
Its really not. There's one hard mechanic (The beyond death/knockback).

The last phase w/ the exoflares theres a safe you can sit in and pew pew. I watch Sfia's stream and was extremely amused when I saw this.

Went through The Copied Factory (blind) last night for the first time. Was a great time and most of it seems like memorization. Third boss gave me the most trouble as I had to watch health bars, the ground, and the boss itself for cues.

Picked up the Healer Jacket and 2B coffer on the first run. Looks cool, but I hope they add a 2A glamour in 5.2.

Really want to go back and finish the Ivalice raid for all the gear--hope people are still running it.

Trying to catch up on crafting. Is Ishard Resto going to be focused on end-game crafting, or more like the Ehchatl tribe from ARR? Also, GC turn ins (with engineering buff) is crazy experience now. I jumped two levels on a single turn in. Seems like early crafting now is just Waste Not spam with some MM or Innovation at the end. Hope it picks up later.

We don't know all that much about restoration but they did mention anyone can participate and in the stuff they've shown you could see you could get xp from it, so it's not max level only, but it's unclear if lower levels will contribute as much, get similar rewards and if there's a minimum level. We'll see tuesday.

Yeah exp gains are absolutely insane right now. Might bother to level up ALC on my alts so I can grind out yellow scripts whenever I want w/o issue.

I find it more and more concerning that we haven't heard anything at all about Relic Weapons yet. :(

Does fisher level up this fast all the way through or is there a slowdown after 50.
Its still relatveiyl fast but 30-50 with ARR is kinda equivalent to 50-60 with how long it'll take you to level up. If you just fish until you do your GC turn ins, do your custom deliveries with Fisher. And then from 60-70 do Namazu you should be 80 in no time.

Also if you have gil it shouldn't hurt to check the MB. You could even make some gil back reselling fish in the right sets even.

Edit: Don't forget your job quests as well. Some skills are invaluable to accessing some fish much easier. Also boatloads of exp from quests and the crystalline mean turn ins.

I really wish they'd add alternative weapons so upgrading a weapon in the post game without outside help wasn't absolute ass.

Either do Extreme content, join the Relic Grind, or Drop tomestones and spam the normal raid you hopefully have the ilv for to get a weapon upgrade!

Absolute ass system.

The thing is usually they're in the .1 patch line, the only reason they were in .2 in stormblood is because Eureka got delayed. :(
Which sets a precedent for them to just start them later anyway. I'd start worrying if they don't talk about it in the 5.2 patch but until then not too much of an issue I think, and I don't see them discontinuing the content when they can just go back to old relic style with very little dev time and still have people play it.

Farm money and buy a crafted one. It's the easiest and most straightforward way and they've been a lot better at keeping crafted weapons relevant with the new upgrading system. Can save a lot of money buying materials and having it crafted but since you said without outside help I assume you meant that, but you can level your crafters yourself(isn't really a big deal anymore, can even just rush blacksmith or whatever crafts the weapon and ignore the rest) too.

Honestly its what I've been recommending (And in odd number patches you can buy other stuff to try to maximize savings when getting your weapon) but its still just really blegh in general because the game is pretty hand holdy with upgrades until the current content and then it just laughs at you as you dig around for 1k Tomes and fumble around with tokens and some extra junk to trade in for a weapon and this is something that's definitely not explained its just that 99% of the community already knows what to do.

Honestly just add the <adjective> tomestone to the normal raids once they're out of season.

Is the point of the Eurkea thing to just farm specific glams? I did a little tonight and it was pretty fun, but I'm not sure what the point of it all is/was entirely.

Also, maybe jumping the gun a bit but I applied to the ERA guild and haven't heard back yet. Does it normally take a while?

It is now yeah, can get a lot of stuff though, glamour items, relic weapons(shiny weapons), dyeable AF3(the Stormblood class armors), mounts, hairstyles, emotes, minions, orchestrion rolls, shiny armor(augmented elemental armor in the very last stage), it's a ton of stuff. Takes a while though and a bunch you can buy on the market(although prices tend to be pretty high, ranging from 100-200k for the "cheap" stuff to 20+millions for the expensive stuff).

Yeah the mechanics I saw weren't so diificult, the thing is we couldn't get past phase 1 because we failed the DPS check :( Most of us were 450 so I'll have to keep grinding to increase my ilvl.

That would be because most people have bad dps. This isn't a jab at them, a lot of players are new to mmos or just not that into min maxing and or aren't that great at real time combat. It's something I'm coming to terms with. The pool of player playing their job to its strengths is limited.

Twice now I've managed to clear Hades with one dps either afk or offline for the whole fight, and it's not like I've got savage gear or anything, if people aren't dying and they're still not killing before the enrage then they must seriously be doing something wrong

So I bought an optional item at Mogstation and I never received the mail or the item. I know the bank discounted the money, so is not like the transaction failed.

I contacted support but they told me I have to wait 48h (wtf) before I can't raise an actual ticket and they can look into it.

So... Is this common? It shouldn't take hours and much less 48h to have an item I paid for. I bought another lvling potion and got it instantly...

Anyone else had issues with Mogstation purchases?

I've fallen really deep into gathering lately with the addition of the quick gather feature. I always thought the gathering achievements for 2.X were a ridiculous grind that I'd never come close to finishing and now I'm starting to think I'll get them all.

I bought something about a week ago that took like 15 hours to show up and I've had something take close to 24 hours before. I don't know why they get held up like that at times but it can certainly happen.

One thing I bought took over a day to arrive, think it might have been the flying carpet.

Was it an account wide item? If not you might have sent it to the wrong character?

Hmm I didn't consider that. We got enrage at 25% HP lol. Oh well, I'll try my luck again later!

Nah, I checked twice and I only have one character anyway.

What irks me is that I don't have anything on the purchase history. But, whatever I guess I'll have to wait.

I've never had a problem with MogStation purchases, but I've heard a lot of "horror" stories about how sometimes it'll randomly take a long ass time for a purchase to arrive. It's really not a great system

While I haven't beaten it yet I can agree with that it's not a hard fight, going by the vids I watched. But seriously... I don't know if it's because I am 2 (?) weeks late but when I finally had time last night to give it a go it took forever to find a group that got past P1 because people die too everything. And even then the group that did, instantly wiped in P2 3 times in a row then disbanded. Not sure why the devs thought it to be a good idea to put DPS and mechanic-checks every other minute. I was very hyped for the fight and it's tons of fun but a PuG-nightmare, even more than E2S.

Yeah fisher leveling is crazy fast. I barely even used leves and I just fished in an area that had leve fish until I got 53 then turned the fish I had for a leve to get to 64 then did the quest and gained two levels fishing while trying to get 3 hq ice picks for the quest then the quest itself got me to 55 then kinda of the same deal again and eventually I was ahead of my class quest in levels got to 60 while doing the 58 quest now I'm 65 after doing the Stormblood intro quest and the beast tribe daily. I damn near maybe 80 before the day's over.

Miqo are the most anime looking humanoid race that doesn't dip into Akira Toriyama territory, it's only natural they're the most common. I think Viera are gonna overtake them though.

Lalafell aren't commissioned as much as Miqo'te because they can only be seen at night while poorly lit, and from at least fifty meters away.

Its not even hard though! (I say as a boomer who's raided on an off since Second Coils)

Like the whole first phase is 3 mechanics, one of which is stand on the opposite side of the attack. The other is protean wave (Or whatever term to use for it). The only annoying mechanic is the dropping AOEs which when I ran with my static we just fucking yoloed in the middle because lol vuln stacks.

I dunno the whole fight seems pretty easy from a DPS check (As long as everyone doesn't eat shit you should pass the DPS checks) and mechanically its things you've seen before or you'll just suffer a vuln/dps down penalty.

Midgar, With Love
So I've been meaning to ask about this for weeks now but kept putting it off because I feel like such a dolt.

I cannot figure out what the deal is but I have been utterly unsuccessful in triggering my limit break as a red mage as well as correctly utilizing almost anything else with the whole "targeting circle" mechanic. (My MMO-savvy friend calls them placeable skills.) This doesn't seem to be a completely universal problem, as I have the upgraded version of Maggie with the pseudo-weapons that also operate via targeting circles and those have worked without a single hitch.

I'm on PS4. When I have tried using my limit break, or similar stuff like those cannons in Stone Vigil (Hard), I follow the instructions as best I can. And how easy those instructions appear to be!

Press the corresponding button on my cross hotbar that the ability has been mapped to; an orange circle appears; move said orange circle to a foe or group of foes; note that the orange circle changes color to indicate a valid target; and then this is where it all falls apart. I've tried pressing the corresponding ability button again. I've tried pressing x. I've tried tapping R2 for the hell of it. I've tried tapping R1 for the hell of it. I've tried clicking the touchpad. I've tried manually targeting a particular foe. I've tried ensuring I haven't manually targeted anybody.

I'm at my wit's end here.

Facet gear for both crafters and gatherers all done. Not melded but I want to wait and see what the ideal melds for Ishgard stuff are. Feels good to get that out of the way.
