Stormblood patch content was great but unfortunately I'm going to have to give it a failing grade since theres no fight where the main expansion theme plays like in ARR and HW.

That shit is always awesome.

the only time it would be fitting to play it would have been at Zenos. After that there's no really thematic place for it so it is ok. Also Revolutions is the weakest of the main themes so far imo

Help me out yall,
im doing the anima weapon quests and i think im getting near the end (getting the Cronus for DrK), im at a quest that tells me to strengthen its aetheric whatever by doing various activities, but no actual list of what would work.

Googling it has led me to a couple ideas but no comprehensive list, yall know what works best for it.

Aetheric Density? Pretty much anything Heavensward and before, as I recall. The typical strat is to get some buds to spam A1S, and you'll get it done in like half an hour. Otherwise, spam Brayflox Hard unsynced if you're flying solo.

This video goes into detail for all the steps:

Thanks, im doing this stuff solo so Brayflox unsync sounds good.

This entry still has my favorite takes on the traditional jobs in the series. They give them more personality and flesh them out.

Warrior felt like your bog standard melee guy with swords in classic games but here, they're sort of these badass berserkers with giant axes with their own lore.

If you want to mix it up, I'm pretty sure anything Heavensward and ARR is fair game. Brayflox Hard unsynced is just super fast.
I got a good bit of it for my Pally Anima while I was farming for the Valkyrie's Striking set in Gubal Hard.

Either way, the remaining steps are pretty much just persistence. You'll get it eventually.

If you have max lvl gear then you should be able to solo the regular stuff and that'll unlock savage.
Lol no i meant learning the savage fight so i dont fuck it up for the rest of the party.
Iv had mixed experience going into unsync raid stuff blind, sometimes theres that one mech that just doesnt care about how op you are.

Huh.

Making a ARR relic seems relatively easy compared to what I went through with the animus weapon. Might actually start one.

Oh wait, I only read the first phase of the relic process. Not all the other forms.

Yeah, that might get a lil rough.

My only gripe about the battle music is that it makes the slightest chocobo flyby the most intense thing from 0.

Il Mheg is a fantastic zone with fantastic instance content. East Shroud doesn't hold a candle to it.

ok my initial impressions on shadowbrigners now that I did the "intro" let's call it up to the first dungeon

- I love how bleak it is. On Alphi's quest, you meet a bunch of poor people desperate for a safe place to stay, and rich fuckers taking advantage of it in their fancy city. A trope always easy to apreciate, it's easy to ahte rich people lol. On Ali's side, it's even bleaker with MORE poor people, this time with no rich safe haven, instead just a assisted suicide center (yikes) and the stuff with the girl was nightmare fuel.
- I like the villains because im a big sucker for the "light / angels/ good as a force of evil" trope (probably because I think religion is a sham but that's neither here nor there lol)
- The zones are...ok. Not bad but not exactly a visual splendor so far, both were very desert-y, I do like those purple woods tho.
- First dungeon was good, not amazing but good. Last boss was actually kinda hard the first time. I had a hero tank which always annoys me (if you're pulling so much I can't keep your health above 30% even tho I'm spamming you, maybe that's a clue you shouldnt pull so much mate?)

Anyway its great stuff and a much better start than Stormblood for sure.

edit: Kinda felt like trying the new Trust system but I didnt.

Kinda felt like trying the new Trust system but I didnt.

The Trust system has positives and negatives. Positives are that you get to practice the dungeons without worrying about messing things up for a group of real players and that you get to skip long DPS queues if that's what you play. Negatives are that the AI companions' DPS is abysmal so dungeons take forever, AI doesn't use AOE at all which only compounds the previous problem, and if you die it's treated as a party wipe.

It works for it's intended purpose of getting players who prefer to play solo through story dungeons, but now that I've completed 5.0 I doubt I'll use it again.

Il mheg sucks. Also Fuath is pronounced wrong.

I used the trust system for practicing SCH when I started off. Thancred is actually a decent tank if you pull more enemies to him, but your party DPS is so miserable omg.

Hopefully they get a buff, no aoe seems pretty needlessly dumb.

I really love the idea of getting to use the supporting cast members as party members.

When I first got to Eulmore, I was subjected to a bunch of chucklefucks and their shitty "IS THIS THE SOCIALISMS???" takes in shout chat, so take heart in knowing you probably have the better experience lol

Trusts are way too slow for me to bother wanting to use them, but they're probably the best way to experience the dungeons for the first time, since they have some neat character interactions in them.

The main thing I really want at this point is for NG+ to have EXP added.

Yeah going through with trusts is slow but I think it adds a lot. Like bringing Alisaie into the first dungeon and

having her comment about Tesleen and having to put her to rest

is very good.

Finally started ShB DoH/DoL quests starting with BSM and MIN. They turn it into custom deliveries now huh? At least it's easier to get yellow script.

I enjoyed going through the dungeons for the first time with trusts. Mainly for the little bits of dialogue you get but also because Shadowbringers really feels like you are travelling with a traditional FF party so it felt right to do dungeons with that party when I got the chance.

They're definitely painfully slow though.

They're a good source of experience and nice for a quick scrip fill-up (I believe it's enough to over-cap you). It's worth it to turn in HQ stuff if you can, also.

That said, between leves and manuals, you'll have no trouble hitting 80 whatsoever, lol, so they're also kinda just there.

Hopefully they alter trusts in the future where you can use them outside of dungeons like Chocobos aswell.

Y'shtola being my trusty partner in the field would be pretty damn awesome.

I imagine they wouldn't want to do this just to avoid the situation of there being a bunch of Y'Shtolas in one place.

That said, I want an Amaro companion. Give me my own Seto, YoshiP. :(

I'm just happy they changed Thancred's look.

HW's just didn't fit him at all. It was really bad.

I've never done a single sidequest that doesn't unlock a feature since I started the game. I want to do them just to clear up the maps, but I have so many to do that I know I'll never do them.

Yeah. I've never been a fan of the Hobo Thancred design.

does Thancred drop his stupid 1 eye cover thing then?

YOU HAVE 2 EYES DUDE!

I do them on alt jobs to pass the time, like if im queuing for something that is 10m+, il clear out some sidequests on a alt for some free xp and to play the alt job a bit /shrug
