I really didn't like how:
after you fight Gladio he just disappears and there's not even a cutscene or something. It just feels half-baked and incredibly annoying that they continue to do stuff like this.

Iris says something if you talk to her afterwards, but yeah that's about it.

Just finished the "Story" par of The DLC...
I really don't like how it changes the feel of
Chapter 14

Very disappointing DLC... It has potential but is poorly done.

That was over quickly. Thanks for the tip! I don't know why the ? didn't show up on my map until I was right next to him.
They will all spawn there.

None of theme will show a "?" on the map... But at least now you know where to find them.

I noticed I should made my reply a little longer, here it is:

Fuck no!
I'm close to the 4th area and I there's still literally no story.

Btw, I found a flaw in the CC...

... where are the hats?

So, I just had it happen that a Nidus and enemies spawned so close to the edge of the battle arena and lurked around there, that when I warp striked onto one of them it aborted the quest for me...
There are real signs of something great and fun here, but it just lacks so much polish.

About the ending:

Did I miss something, or was your avatar supposed to be one of the glaives who betrayed everyone in the movie? Is that what Bahamut meant with sins and stuff? And holy jeez, according to this, Noctis just takes the boat and leaves everyone behind on the island with no way out. What the hell? Lol.

Man, the mission with 2 bandersnatch is really tough, they 1 hit me when I'm at lvl 17. Some mobs are just overpowered.

Not only that:
when he magically returns, Talcott is 10 years older despite being his normal age just before the ship landed on Angelgard.

Also I found this post in pstrophy forum:

Loading Screen #1: 1:27
Pointless campsite screen (where you pick the pointless food to resurrect yourself and then confirm you're ready in front of the barrel): 33 seconds
Loading screen #2: 10 seconds
Battle: 1:13
End of battle (Where you stand around doing nothing while the AI runs around and swaps one pointless food for another): 23 seconds
Pointless Loading Screen #3: 25 seconds
Campsite: 42 seconds
Last Loading Screen: 1:08

Total Time: 6 minutes, 1 second.
Total Time actually playing the fucking game: 1 minute, 13 seconds.

They REALLY need to patch this garbage out. I think on vanilla PS4 is even worse.

Died several times, but there wa a lot of food lying around from previously killed monsters, so I managed to survive long enough. Got pretty tense and fun, heh.

I feel like they could've illustrated a valid point without using the extreme low-end of battle times. Also the pre-match campground isn't much of a wait for the only semblance of a social space in the game. Plus it gives players an opportunity to change gear or AFK if need be instead of doing it during fights. The post match stuff should definitely be streamlined and/or skippable .

So, you have to keep running the same quests over and over to get enough power? Kind of a turn off to do the first one 3x now.

It becomes less of a hassle when you unlock more missions, but you'll eventually have to grind it out especially for some of the relics.

The 60k (do this one last) node and the 38k for one of the relics are the most expensive nodes.

It's still unnecessary. You can change your equipment in the city before accepting a mission. Most people just run to get food and then get ready to go. This whole section could be skipped easily.

So the matchmaking is based on level and not mission? I put a lvl 1 char and seek for party in a lvl 20 mission and I find nothing, switch to a lvl 20 dude and get party instantly.

Not that I need it much, weapons seems to do more than levels, I'm easily doing +lvl20 missions.

It was probably just timing.

My character is currently lv30 and I just did a mission with some lv5s and 8s.

This Pylon of Light mission is so frustrating. I've done several missions higher level than this one but this one always seems to crap itself out once I've killed about 49 out of 50 and then the structure is broken. Having to wait forty-five minutes for it to load isn't helpful either.

Well yeah, that could be the answer in any MP game, but giving players the option to make final changes or take moment is usually a good idea.

The solution here is to nix training area. Let players wait and/or practice at the campground like the base the game. You don't cut the only place people can interact outside of battles when the main problems are load times and plodding, unskippable stat screens.

For defence missions, I highly recommend waiting until you're at least the recommended level or above to ensure a win. They're really unforgiving.

Defense and Escort missions are awful.

The hitbox for whatever you are supposed to protect seems to be a lot bigger than the thing itself.

The Pylon of Light quest is specifically some bullshit. I haven't had trouble with the other escort or defense quests though.

I know but it just frustrates me that after receiving criticism about stuff like this, they just turn around and do it again.

Does anyone feel like the rewards are really off? I've been grinding a level 3 mission for kW because it gives 3.4k, whereas higher level missions only give 2.5k, or they give the same kW but are much harder. It seems like the whole progression is really wonky.

Gladiolus spoiler:

What's the consensus on this so far? I love the combat system updates in this and I'm thinking of getting it soon.

Excellent character creation/progression, much improved combat mechanics, and a promising foundation currently being held back by awful load times and some jankiness around the multiplayer systems. YMMV depending on your patience and tolerance levels. Personally I love it despite the problems. If you've played Monster Hunter/God Eater/Toukiden that's basically what the loop is.

It's okay. Get ready to play it with your phone next to you or while listening to a podcast, because there's a lot of down time between actually playing the game.

lol was going to say, a smartphone is totally required for this game because half the playtime is spent in loading screens.

Really, unless they add some micro-transactions down the road this doesn't need to be that big of a grind. Also for anyone just starting, get your grid powered up more to the west and north because those are the lower level quests.

I'm just spamming the bandersnatch hunt, upgrading all four weapons to get some good stats then go for the harder ones.

Just like the main game, it's a lot of good burried by even more jank. Granted, the exact flavours of good and jank are different, which is why some people that didn't enjoy the main game can get into this, but generally, the same kind of heavily flawed gem situation.

Played far enough to power up Lestallum last night, but I really like it! Great character creator and much better combat.

I also realized after after I made my character that she looks a lot like one of my old co-workers which is... interesting lol

Alright, so overall it's pretty good, but it has some jankiness and it's hampered by load times.
I can deal with that.
Thanks for the impressions.

There are far too many high-waisted pants and shirts tucked into waistbands. I got the 'standard uniform' top which is a nice jacket ruined by the t-shirt being tucked into the pants. Who wears clothes like that? It's not the 80's anymore.

Supposedly the 60K node has nothing? like wtf

And btw for those who have trouble finding the guys they are by the power plant all the way in the back of the base area. All of them will be there.

I'm struggling to understand how you could think this, unless you were solely a spear user and can't get used to its auto-warping. I'm finding the combat much more involved in Comrades, but probably the biggest improvement for me is that the weapons feel much more distinct from each other. In the main game I found using regular swords, polearms or daggers made little difference, whereas I find I actually use my katana and spear for very different purpose. And both crossbows and shurikens being a whole class and not limited to royal arms is great because I think they are both way more fun to use than the guns. And I much prefer bubble shield blocking to the phase shifting blocking, it just feels more impactful.

It's been like 10 months since I played the base game, but yeah I think I was mainly using spears there? I think I was using spear/sword/great sword? I can't remember. But yes, the spear combat in Comrades is horrible. Can you even do anything besides hold down circle for the auto-combo, and do the weird warping around? I don't like the bubble shield thing at all either. I think I need a good resource of how to do different attacks/combos with the weapon types. The game does jack shit to explain anything in detail.

I do feel like the combat feels a little better here than it did in the main game. Something about the weapons just feels a bit more satisfying.

I can't put my finger on it, maybe it just feels snappier while retaining the weightiness of each hit of the main game. The new animations are also really satisfying to watch. Duel daggers side kicks, and katana flurries just feel good.

I don't know if it was said yet.

But
if you have the Crownsguard sigil after defeating the bros in the 3 on 1 battle
and beat the game again. There's an additional scene after the ending.

Spears are more suited for big bosses. Thanks to being able to warp without Lux, you can change positions around the boss without being out of range. For small enemies that doesn't work of course lol

Also, delaying a spear attacks instead of keep pressing it does a wide cone attack to hit multiple enemies at your front.
