This is my first Fire Emblem game, I have it preloaded, and I still can't decide between the Red or Yellow House!!!

I've decided: I'll go BE -> BL -> GD -> BE. By then, the new difficulties and DLC will be out, so it should make for a solidly different experience.

Since you're mostly just carrying over renown and cosmetic stuff, apparently, I don't see why not. Eventually we'll max out those statues, though. Wonder if there's anything after that?

I hope so. I want my last BE playthrough to be the perfect file. Meaning most recruited students, max stats, supports and with the Church burning forever. Fuck da church! :P
Is there a non-spoiler way to see all the classes with a brief rundown on what their strengths and weaknesses are? Trying to avoid plot stuff, but would like to have a general idea of what direction I can send my students in.
Anyone able to say if Cyril and Shamir are playable for the Black Eagles? Just a yes or no without any other details!
I want to know if they stay or leave if you side with Edelgard.
There's nothing really complete yet that doesn't have some spoilers in it. Even then, we only have the names and growths of a lot of stuff.

Just take a look at that Famitsu cover. The only one that stares at Male Byleth with a hmmmmmm look is Edelgard.

Plus side, the previews were glowing and the spoilers seem very cool. Impressions amongst people who got it mostly seem positive too.
God, I'm having the hardest time getting excited about this game. Have any previews really delved into the combat, and possibly address the too-easy default difficulty?

There have been a few surface level previews of the combat, but if you're still on the fence I'd just wait for the reviews in the morning. With the embargo up, I'm sure there will be way more in depth stuff.
Hard is apparently a decent challenge, and there are at least two difficulties above that (which presumably are unlocked by beating Hard).
It isn't. But because of New Game+ bonuses, I want the route I'm most excited for to have as much boosts as I can

Hard is pretty easy so far, so I'd suggest starting on that. You can change the difficulty down at any time, but you can't turn it up.
You lock out infinite practice maps on it though, so might make grinding out relationships and stats for recruits a pain / impossible?
Wouldn't the opposite be more fun? Well, for me personally. I want my first experience to be the purest, with all the struggles and whatnot, hahaha, and I reserve that for my most excited house.
Yeah I'm the opposite, my big enjoyment in the Fire Emblem series comes from the characters and how they interact rather than the difficulty of gameplay so, I would want my most excited House to be able to recruit everyone I can, see every side chapter available, spend as much time with the characters as I can.
From what I've heard, the game can get reasonably difficult on Hard but if you're looking for variety like Conquest, it's not here.

Well, I think my 1st playthrough will be where I am most emotionally involved (including the story and whatnot), so yeah for that reason I am going for my favorite house first, but yeah I can understand your way of thinking too.

There Is a track in Three Houses and that sounds ripped straight out of Radiant Dawn and it's awesome.

Lunar15 and I were comparing Fire Emblem sountracks before and we just decided Days of Ruin is pretty much RD's soundtrack 2.0
I just got charged for my Amazon order that I honestly forgot I placed. Was planning on picking it up after work on Friday but I guess it'll be waiting for me when I get home.

I think I'm settling on GD > BL > BE.
If it's at all reasonable/possible, I'm gonna try to grind for as much renown as I can to give my BL playthrough the most bonuses. I'd leave them for last, but I don't trust that I won't feel burned out on the game after two complete playthroughs. I never played Revelations for that reason.

You guys sure about that route planning? The first route alone is gonna take 60+ hours. Very real possibility to get burned out by then. Other routes will surely go quicker as you can skip some scenes, but it's not going to be significantly quicker. I advice picking the one you want to do the most first, because that might be the only one you end up doing. Picking just one is hard though.
Also, make sure you play on Hard unless you want braindead combat.
