Clear free kick for ajax missed by the ref in the build up to the goal. Why wasn't that goal VAR'ed, but the extremely close offside goal was reviewed. Not sure I understand how VAR makes football more fair, when it feels arbitrary

As far as I know VAR is not used for reviewing normal fouls in the middle of the field. There was a similar claim at Ajax's goal and that wasn't reviewed either. Only penalties go to VAR.

we just had a similar situation in the Atletico vs Real match last weekend, when Greaseman scored the equalizer goal: they used VAR to check if he was offside or not, but they did not check for a foul in the run-up, where an Atletico player fouled a Real player to get the ball and then made the pass to Greaseman

Probably the best half of football I've ever seen us play under Pochettino and that was without Kane or Dele.

That extension last season was breathtakingly bad. 20m isn't much in the scheme of things, but symptomatic of Woodward's short-sighted executive style. Between giving in to every agent's fees, paying off fired managers, overly generous wage packages, etc. United seem determined to waste their financial prowess.

Didn't watch the game so can't comment on how turpid of a performance that was but even if we go through that result is still pretty worrying.
