The OP already mentions that tbf. I assumed that when people like Vire show up going "you're hurting the devs" they already took the information in the OP into account.
Don't assume people are as sincere as you are.

The terrorist attack has nothing to do with my boycott. People started boycotting THQ within 24 hours of the AMA. The higher ups at THQ have shown that they either don't care, or they think it was a good place for an AMA. One of the board members took part in the AMA and clearly enjoyed the homophobic memes there. The company is garbage, and they will never get my money again.Recent current events didn't change anything. I already expressed my extreme displeasure to THQNordic on this very site in the past. I already knew that 8chan was literally the most vile place on the Internet.
It's not like some sudden realization. Oh wow maybe I should boycott their games now that I know how bad the site is.
Cool. Do whatever you want, dude. But stop criticizing others for wanting to exercise their rights as consumers.Recent current events didn't change anything. 1. Small group or one person is irrelevant to the conversation about developers and how they remain innocent and completely divorced from the publisher who puts out their game. They signed contracts and deals months if not years prior to any controversy.
2. What the fuck are you talking about. You think money just magically comes out of thin air? What happens when the game sells extremely poor?Everything is performance based. Who is going to publish their next game? How many staff are going to be laid off when the funding stops rolling in, the money dries up and now no paychecks can be dolled out.
I don't even know why I'm responding to this post. It's just absurd.

No one owes developers anything.
There's quite a difference between THQ Nordic and Deep Silver publishing and both just distributing them for other publishers so I think a difference between those should be made. One is actual publishing, another is just regional publishing and the other is just distribution.
They seem like a cool studio and they already almost went out of business after Shadow Tactics too....Desperados 3 is a must buy for me and I don't punish Mimimi Productions because their publisher build some shit.
As far as I'm aware, while Deep Silver may have helped fund and publish the final product, none of our (Kickstarter backers) money went to them, they went directly to Ys to help fund development. Deep Silver didn't jump in until long after the Kickstarter campaign ended.I won't buy any of those except for Shenmue III, which I've backed on Kickstarter.

OP still hasn't fixed his shitty list. How many people are coming into this thread, seeing Sega games like Yakuza, Puyo Puyo Tetris and Persona 5 and assuming Deep Silver publishes those games everywhere, when in reality Deep Silver only distributes the physical versions of those games in Europe. If you buy those games in Asia or NA, Deep Silver doesn't see a cent of your money. And if you're in Europe, Deep Silver has nothing to do with the digital releases.

If you don't want to give THQ Nordic AB any money from my purchase (whatever the amount) then there's no difference, at least to me.
The vast majority of european retail versions of games seems to be produced/distributed by Koch Media, which as of last year belong to THQ Nordic AB, so if I don't want to support them, all I can do is order from regions around the world and make sure the game is not published worldwide by THQN or Deep Silver.
You might also look into buying european versions used (which still requires someone to give the money to THQN in your stead) or buy digital versions of games where Koch Media only handles physical distribution or Deep Silver/ THQN only publish the retail versions but I don't have any means to confirm that any of them don't have a hand in the digital publishing procedures so I will rather avoid europe entirely for the time being.

I updated the OP to clarify some region publishing rights and divided the games between THQ and Deep Silver. I also added their Steam publisher pages.
This shit is dreadfully tired.
You lames will lambast developers and proudly scream about not buying a game over microtransactions...... Over Epic Store exclusivity.... Over DLC options.... Over fucking framerate..... Over censoring fucking anime titties and outfits and shit
Not even once you mention those "developers" you love so much. Not once do you give a damn unless they can be used as your little chip.
A few people decide to boycott a publisher over condoning a shit website and userbase and you all come shitting up the thread with your baby bullshit.
Give it a fucking break, piss out the damn thread. Transparent as fuck. Fucking corny ass gamers
Thanks. I'd also recommend adding instructions on how to ignore THQ Nordic and Deep Silver on Steam like C-Dub mentioned in the other thread:I updated the OP to clarify some region publishing rights and divided the games between THQ and Deep Silver. I also added their Steam publisher pages.

Microsoft teamed up with THQ Nordic to distribute five games on Steam and bring them to PC on disc, the company announced during its Gamescom press conference Tuesday.
The games coming to Steam and PC disc are "ReCore: Definitive Edition," "Super Lucky's Tale," "Disneyland Adventures," "Rush: A Disney-Pixar Adventure," and "Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Animal Collection." All five hit on Sept. 14. All five are also Microsoft Studios published games made exclusively for the company's platforms.
The announcement is part of a publishing deal that has THQ Nordic distributing some of Microsoft's titles to Steam and physical retailers. It's unclear if this will expand to include further titles.
Despite that article, the partnership concerns retail copies only. All the games are self published on Steam by MS themselvesI feel that a handful of Microsoft-published titles on PC and Steam should be added to the list:
Disneyland Adventures
ReCore: Definitive Edition
Rush: A Disney-Pixar Adventure
Super Lucky's Tale
Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Animal Edition
All of these games are published by THQ Nordic at retail and are listed on the publisher's website. As for Steam, I'm not finding anything concrete, and they're labelled as Microsoft-published games on the storefront, but I am finding this initial write-up from Variety:
https://variety.com/2018/gaming/news/windows-steam-xbox-1202911522/
I would also include Sunset Overdrive, as it had a similar deal when it was announced, but it seems to no longer be listed on THQ Nordic's website. I was able to access this press release a few weeks ago, but it's straight-up gone now:

I have no intention do support this shitstain of a company going forward. So help me out here Era.
I'm based in EU and mildly interested in Yakuza and quite a bit interested in Shenmue III. What are my options?
OP isn't clear about the SEGA/Atlus situation. I'm fine if I buy Yakuza on PSN ore import, correct?
And Shenmue III? Are they worldwide publisher on that one? Both, digital and retail?
Thank you. And what about getting Shenmue digital on console (either one is cool for me) with my EU account?Shenmue 3 can be imported from China or Japan, where Deep Silver will not be the publisher, therefore cutting them out of the revenue stream. YSNet hasn't announced a Japanese publisher for the game yet, so it it won't be available to order from that region until they do.
Deep Silver is the distributor for Yakuza in Europe for physical copies only. If you buy the game digitally, or import a physical copy from any other region, Deep Silver is not involved in the transaction.

Thanks, much appreciated!Hmm. Not sure about that one. When I find out I'll let you know.
New Zealand should have no effect on your boycott of THQ Nordic and Deep Silver. They had nothing to do with the shooting. They made an extremely bad decision on where to promote their game but to put any correlation between those two events would be asinine and immature.
