Final update: kid faked the whole thing. Crow was served that night, everyone hated it.

no_lo_puedes_tocar_joder_by_elecast-dclyjhv.png

art date september 3rd, skin revealed mid november.

It's not clear if epic straight up copied this kid's design but I'm reporting in

UPDATE 4:
DeviantArt has a feature? that allows you to change the thing you uploaded, leaving the original date and no indications of 'it was edited in -'
By looking at the fotoforensics metadata you can see the picture was uploaded last March, which could imply the artist used the feature to;

1 - Update with a watermark, after the incident

or

2 - To fabricate the whole thing

lmao that could not be more blatant if they tried. Only reason they could argue it's not a copy of her design, is if the artist's design is one of those 'original character do not steal' type of characters that's a recolor of another famous character. But then that means Epic copied THAT design so they aren't in the clear.

Also did she seriously call her character Burrito

it feels increasingly like Epic has escaped public scrutiny by-and-large specifically because they're the people who put a stop to the rise of that one game you meme-hated really hard back in 2017
I know that to have always been the case for many of you here (even if you won't admit it) so don't even act like this is a completely unfounded idea
I can't see many other major players in the industry pulling shit like Epic does as often as Epic does while still maintaining a good image

Hopefully some dickbag designer did this on their own. Epic have the chance to make this pretty good for the original designer, they just have to credit and pay them, assuming of course they would take that deal and don't just want it removed, in which case it needs to be.

Thievery. It's not even used as inspiration, it's literally the fucking design.

Readding those tweets and stuff, is it true that DeviantArt can sell your fucking art to third parties without notifying the artist? What the actual fuck?

Games have been using IRL dance moves for emotes way before Fortnite...

This right here is way more clear cut.
"We've always stolen from these creators so it must be legal" isn't really a great defense. Just shows that people don't value copyrighted works and instead have to be trained to not devalue them.

Yo am I the only one who sees that as Flamedramon from Digimon 02.

Such a weird design to steal.

So many hot takes...quite possible that an artist employed by epic copied the design and noone at epic realised because they can't get against every deviant art post ever made.

Lots of comments as if an entire company of hundreds of people all acted in concert to screw over this person...

And Epic failed to do basic due diligence about the product then.

When that same company does this multiple times you start asking questions.

The hot take at this point is to be logical in an Epic thread.
I've had to deal with this dozens of times in my career now.

Blatant. Epic needs to sort this out to the satisfaction of the original artist.

Not surprised after the various dance moves thing.

This is like "copy my homework, but not too hard" tier.
